His book is one of the few I never read. Since you guys are speaking so well of it, I may have to get a copy.

Another book I never bothered with was the Philip Carlo book on Casso. I could hardly get past the first few pages. Almost total disinformation and bullshit. Not worth my time.


Mazza's book is very good, he doesn't come off as a bull shitter or embellisher in the least bit. The book blew away my expectations. The Casso book was a great read despite Carlos terrible writing and kissing of Casso's ass. The only reason I say that is because of all the stuff Casso was involved with. He was in the bypass gang, had dirty cops, was involved in countless murders, went on the run for a few years, his friendship with Burt Kaplan, the involvement with the Russians, Gemini twins, etc.

If you want to read something more well written and without the random of Carlo on Casso I suggest the Brotherhoods. Now that was a well written and researched masterpiece.
