He was a lowly associate who was largely utilized as a crash dummy by John Jr., and other "members." I'm sure when he was active he was well thought of by those associates. He does sound like he was a tough kid who would eagerly go and bat a guy, or perform other tasks as ordered. But he was no "star."

He was an Albanian from the neighborhood who's biggest clan to fame was dealing various drugs in order to make a living. He DIDN'T operate large lucrative gambling or shylock networks. He wasn't an overly intelligent and savvy hood who was being "groomed" for bigger things. He didn't operate at higher, more sophisticated levels in white collar type big money rackets. He was what he was. A tough kid who often acted without thinking for his own motives and those of Jr., and others, and operated at a "street level." He wasn't;t into legitimate business ventures, etc.

There is value in that. Guys like him may be a dime a dozen, but they are also needed to grease the wheels of the borgata. The more savvy goodfellas are not looking to pick up a bat and go out and whack somebody when they have guys around them like him to do it. Likewise, they don't encourage their sons and nephews to do it unless it's an extreme circumstance and cannot be helped.

Why should they? Thats why you have "position" in the first place. So you can send guys like this out to do it for you. It's called hierarchy.

And I agree with several posters on here who stated that it sounds like "sour grapes" on Alite's part that he continues this "babyish" tit-for-tat dialogue going about Gotti and his relationship. It's all petty trash talk. Hardly becoming the former "street guy" that he supposedly was.

When somebody talks that way incessantly, its gotta make you wonder what was really going on behind the scenes.
