A lot of guys will "meet" with the FBI along with their defense attorney to hear what the feds have to say. That DOESN'T mean they intended to turn rat. Often times wiseguys will humor these feds to see where the feds are headed as far as their investigation goes. The guys try and glean whatever info may slip from a feds mouth. It's a cat and mouse game because the feds are trying to do the same thing.
The feds may label it a "Proffer" session, or hope it would be, but often times its all BS.
But then again, you would say all this.
