I just wanted to let the Members Know I been studying this Guys mindset and this is what I came up with

Psychopath (Psychopath is Different from Sociopathy on the Fact that Greg Scarpa was for the most part Emotionless did not Panic when planing crimes until he got the Aids and started Experiencing more of a Sociopath)

Polygamist ( Had more then 3 wives (So to Speak) and according to his Granddaughter Debbie That told Larry Mazza he had a 4th wife)

Informant (Gave up Family Friends and Made Guys )

Homicidal/Killer (Killed almost everything from Family to Friends)

Filicide ( He didn’t Deliberately KILL his SONS but Forced them on to Drug Dealing which Resulted in his Son Joey getting shot to death )

Fratricide (Now despite NOT actually killing his Sons he did infact Kill his older brother Salvatore Scarpa Who was different from Greg in every way and learned of his Informant status and Threatened or Attempted to tell the Family )

Hypocrite ( Him and His WHORE informant Wife Linda Schiro were Pot heads and Greg goes and Beats the shit out of his Daughters Boyfriend cause Little Linda came home High and thought his Daughter could do No Wrong ! )

Deceitful (Manipulated and fucked Everyone from his Brother to his Son and to His Freinds and Associates )

Cold Hearted (He may have showed Affection and Apathy the Outside but on the Inside he was NOT )

Heavy Smoker and Drinker ( in my Opinion he Caused his Ulcers from this which lead to him taking Aspirin in which the uneducated Cafone
Obviously didint know better to take Tylenol and the Fact that Bacteria plays a Part in Ulcers he didn’t Brush his Teeth often if you Can tell in his Photos but was Well Groomed on the bright side )

Doesn't it make you wonder why the FBI always uses the most deranged informants?

Exactly and I heard rumors that he was the One who shot Martin Luther King and the FBI told him to do that don’t know how much Truth there is to that

I wonder if Scarpa getting made fun of because he was of Northern Italian decent, messed with him?

Guy’s name ended up being the Grim Reaper.

The reasons are probably a lot more benign than whatever you think they are.

If that did happen it was probably way behind his back because anybody making fun of him risked getting one in the nut. At one point the guy basically whacked everyone he wanted to whack. He had the go ahead on both sides and his crew was supposedly huge.

The FBI did use him for blackbag jobs and did send him down south to surveil some of the civil rights leaders. There's a woman, I can't remember her name now, I'll have to look it up, who broke the story wide open and her stuff is interesting.

As bad as Scarpa was Lin Devecchio was just as bad. Letting him run around knowing he was killing people. Devecchio even admitted he didn’t care he was killing since he was giving him information basically saying”The guy was dead nobody was gonna bring him back”. I know a lot of cops like my father think he was a piece of crap

Anyone know why Northern Italians aren’t viewed the same as by Southern Italians?

Also Scarpa got into a gun fight while he had the HIV, even think he got shot in the eye, went to his daughter’s house and was bleeding AIDS blood everywhere!

You were making fun sort of of Northern Italians by saying "they eat polenta for christsake" and I was laughing at that because my husband used to eat it plain. It was disgusting as all hell. But my mother in law at least put sauce on it. Still, not a favorite of mine.

Thanks man! I can honesty say I never really heard any of that stuff.

The only thing close would of been the North Italians like money a lot, even Shylock got played for a fool in Venice lol

Ps
Fried Polenta I actually enjoy with sauce. As well, as having bread crumbs soaked in milk, used for meatballs. I was hesitant 😟, but once I tried them, they were amazing!!

They would never use Scarpa as a government witness, it does not matter where the info comes from.

I had heard or read somewhere he went down to Mississippi for a job like that. It was the case depicted in the movie Mississippi Burning though the movie didn’t reference him. Don’t know how true that is though.

Who would believe that the FBI would protect such a dangerous guy ???

Today we know better...

They always try to push that Pistone was such a great undercover that he fooled everyone, which is mostly true, but I'd bet the house that he did things that nobody thought the FBI would ever condone....You don't last 6 years and get so close to a captain, just by bringing swag jewelry !!

Who would believe that the FBI would protect such a dangerous guy ???

Today we know better...

They always try to push that Pistone was such a great undercover that he fooled everyone, which is mostly true, but I'd bet the house that he did things that nobody thought the FBI would ever condone....You don't last 6 years and get so close to a captain, just by bringing swag jewelry !!

. Lin Devecchio was/is a scumbag for sure. It’s clear he let Scarpa run around doing whatever he wanted and seemed to get a rush out of it. He admits he got “close” to crossing the line but it’s clear he went way past it. As for Pistone I don’t want to throw accusations I think he admitted to beating some guys up during his time but I don’t think he went anywhere close as far as Devecchio did

I agree with you JCrusher regarding Devecchio and Pistone, but I never saw Pistone say he beat people up. Are you sure he said it? Pistone is the only FBI agent who in my opinion really accomplished a successful undercover job on the mafia. I read his book years agora nd have seen a few of his interviews, but can't recall him saying he gave anyone a beating while working undercover.

Pistone did a good job, but he mostly focused on Sonny Blacks crew only and the main defendant didn't even live to the trial. I think Jack Garcia did more harm to the Gambino family than Pistone did to the Bonannos, because he got the acting boss (Squitieri), and 2 capos (DePalma and Megale), apart from a larger number of defendants.

On the other hand, Pistone worked during the period when the mafia was more powerful, so was in a more dangerous situation though...

Willie Marfeo to Henry Tameleo:

1) "You people want a loaf of bread and you throw the crumbs back. Well, fuck you. I ain't closing down."

2) "Get out of here, old man. Go tell Raymond to go shit in his hat. We're not giving you anything."

He wrote it in his second book ("Unfinished business") in which he mentions some of the illegal stuff he did while undercover. He couldn't write it in the first book because it would have been used against him in the trials.

He said he took part in a few hijacking operations when he was around Jilly Greca and the Colombos.

He also mentioned a particular incident when Lefty and him were robbed at gunpoint by some guys after they left a gambling joint. A few days later, Lefty found out who were the guys who did it so he gave their adress to Pistone and told him to give them a beating which he did. They were junkies so Pistone didn't have any problem handling it alone.

I disagree Dwalin.Pistone destroyed a lot of Bonnanos., and infiltrated other families. Garcia put a lot into promoting himself, Pistone actually earned his rep. He even wound up meeting bosses from other states. Amazing. Garcia hung out with a broken old man giving him money in exchange for getting to hand around him. I think DePalma was also shaved at the time.

Destroyed? That's rich. He got 17 mobsters only and the rest that he claims is were he testified around the country as a Mafia expert and then gave himself the credit as his case. Read Massino's testimony about Sonny Blacks killing. He said he was wacked because he was making moves to take over the family and Not because he vouched for Pistone.

oT Pistone.

Any guys alive who Pistone met? During the scene when Lefty meets Sonny Red and Galante. Did Pistone encounter Galante even if he was “showing the flag” on the block as Sonny Black says.

Cool that he met Trafficanfte.. he’s been dead since 87 if I remember correctly.
