Right, everything is a retread lately.

I watched The Original Universal WearWolf movie tonight...

WearWolf of London, never seen it..... was really good Classic Flick.

Svengoolie gave some interesting facts about the Director , Producer and Star having issues with the makeup Artist.

Nice. I've never seen it before. I still have the Universal Classic Monsters Blu-Ray I've been meaning to watch but I just haven't found the time. It has the original Dracula, Frankenstein, Wolf Man, etc

I really like them all, there are so many.

Love that one too TIS......

The one you mention is the 1981 version, really good flick.

I was viewing the 1935 version....WereWolf of London , its old....its fun to see how the people lived back then, I always enjoy noticing the furniture and way they dressed and spoke to each other.

The most remembered version is the 1941 WereWolf since it had Lon Chaney Jr.

I enjoy them all.

Check out all of these and the one with Anthony Hopkins.

I like to view older movies too for this reason. To see the costumes/wardrobes, lack of technology, daily life, etc. Time, frozen onscreen.

OCEAN'S 8

A decade after our last entry in the Ocean's series, we're given the all-female version of the same thing. And, just like the GHOSTBUSTERS remake, it doesn't bring it. Nothing new is brought to the table with this installment. Just a regurgitation of what George Clooney and company did over 10 years ago. The cast is great but each one of them is so two dimensional. Nobody really stands out, hardly any humor and overall, just not a lot of fun either. Without spoiling anything, but towards the end of the movie, one of the reasons a character gives for joining in on this heist is extremely weak. Hopefully, we'll be spared and there will be no Ocean's 9. 5.5/10

Thanks De Niro. Honestly, I've had MoviePass for almost a year now and I LOVE it! As big of a movie junkie as I am, paying $9.99 a month and having the ability to see a movie a day with it, is beyond worth it to me. However, recently they changed their Terms of Service which stipulated that you can't see the same movie more than once. Until AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR came out (from when I began my membership last September) you always could. It's still a good deal regardless and allows you to see other things. Most of what I've posted recently I never would have paid full price for myself. But again, only paying $10 a month with MoviePass, this gives me the opportunity to see those films that I would have passed on originally.

HEREDITARY

This movie had some pretty lofty expectations going into it. A lot of positive reviews while others were comparing it to such classics as ROSEMARY'S BABY and THE EXORCIST. And after just having watched it I can say one thing: the hype is real. It's such a breath of fresh air to have a horror movie as good as this. Honestly, it's probably one of the best since 2015's THE WITCH or 2014's IT FOLLOWS. Strong performances all the way around from all the family members: Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne, Alex Wolff and newcomer Milly Shapiro. It's a slow burn of a film but the end definitely makes up for it. A new horror classic! 7.5/10

HOTEL ARTEMIS

My expectations heading in to this were somewhat low. I was mildly interested in seeing it so I decided to give it a shot and it was more enjoyable than I thought it originally was going to be. A well-rounded cast that actually had a pulse. The movie takes a page out of JOHN WICK's playbook about a hotel with an exclusive clientele list where criminals can go to get bandaged up without fear of the police coming after them. It's great seeing Jodie Foster back, chewing up dialogue as I haven't seen her in anything in years. This is a movie that you can pass on seeing in theaters but when it comes to streaming or Redbox, I think it's worth a viewing. 6/10

Agree. Appreciate the reviews big time that I12 posts..... I have limited Movie time and opportunity so this really filters a big group for me and my wife.

I read them all and make notes so I can be informed when deciding what to go see or stream.

Thanks I12

"BABY FACE"
This pre-Code (1933) movie features Barbara Stanwyck as Lilly Powers, a tough cookie who waitresses for and is pimped out by her speakeasy proprietor father in dreary Erie PA. Escaping with her friend and sometimes maid Chico (Theresa Harris) by boxcar, she lands in NYC and is determined to sleep her way to the top of a big bank. Although dated, "Baby Face" is quite racy and overtly suggestive for its time. Stanwyck, always good, is excellent here--determined to get ahead and totally unsentimental about all the saps she seduced on the way up. One of them is naive Jimmy McCoy Jr., played by a very young John Wayne. Matinee idol George Brent is the last in line. Really good little (73 minutes) movie.

SUPERFLY

I never saw the original SUPERFLY, so I went into this blind. It's an interesting story about a cocaine dealer who's trying to make one last score so he can walk away. However, when he goes around his supplier and goes directly to the source, he soon finds out that walking away is not as easy as it seems. This is one of the better criminal/gangster pictures in recent memory. I was hoping for more from the soundtrack but the costumes, cars, jewelry and certain filming locations added to the authenticity of the picture and got me to buy in more into the believability of the characters. I applaud the writing as the main character Priest is a smart businessman who sees the longer-term goals and isn't so easily provoked to violence. 6/10

LEATHERFACE

Another unnecessary prequel that tells the backstory of a character nobody wanted/asked for/needed. Sometimes not everything needs to be explained and the unknown is actually more terrifying than the known. A weak script, with a low body count and really only the last three minutes of the film are worth anything and even that's a stretch. 4/10

TAG

The premise here is a little crazy. A group of 5 friends play tag every year during the month of May and one of them (Jeremy Renner) is looking to retire after this last season. Renner has never before been tagged as long as they've been playing so the rest of the group goes to extreme lengths in order to prevent him from retiring with a perfect record. The story actually worked quite well for me. The first time I viewed the trailer I was wondering how this was sustainable as a film but I give director Jeff Tomsic and writers Rob McKittrick, Mark Steilen, Mark Steilen and Russell Adams credit for pulling it off. The cast is well-rounded and seems to bounce off of each other well. Everybody is given roughly the same amount of screen time and for my money, Renner stole the show. How much of this story is true I don't know because some of the things these guys went through in order to tag Renner's character was pretty crazy (and hilarious at the same time). As a quick side note: Jeremy Renner actually broke both of his arms during this film while performing a stunt. 6/10

GOTTI

This has been getting some pretty bad reviews with it's recent release, however, I was quite surprised by the amount of people at the theater when I saw it (at least three-quarters full). There were a couple of problems with the film that I found. 1) it felt like Travolta was trying to play a gangster. I didn't really buy him as a John Gotti type, so when you can't buy in to the believably of your main character, you're already starting off on the wrong foot. 2) at the start of the film, they introduced a lot of characters, sometimes in a very short amount of time. Some of them played big parts going forward, however, some were never followed up with or heard from again, so really, what was the point of introducing them? Unless you were already familiar with them, you were lost as to their significance to the story. 3) the story jumped around quite a bit. The film opens up with John Jr. visiting his father in prison, telling him about him (Jr.) possibly taking a deal to avoid a longer sentence. The film then proceeds to jump back in time, then forward to father and son prison visit, then back again, etc. etc. Is this film a masterpiece? Hardly. Is it the worst film I've ever seen? Once again, hardly. I went in with low expectations and the film wasn't as bad as everyone is making it out to be. 4.5/10

I will see it, and I had already felt this was going to be a big sell for Travolta ( believing his character ) - completely agree with what you say about that, if I cannot believe the main character , that makes it a very loose movie.

Never really enjoy time jumping in movies & television but if done properly I cool with it.

Wife looking forward to the New Jarrasic Park film coming out.

Went to Jurrasic World today.

Very entertaining and exactly what I expected.

The Dino saves the good people and eats the Bad.

Perfect.

Funny parts, rediculous parts and parts that make you feel Sad , happy and thrilled all at the same time.

Glad my wife and Friends enjoyed it.

5/10 maybe a 6.

LOVING PABLO

I was really looking forward to this as the trailer had my interest, as did the subject matter. Both Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz were very good in their roles as Pablo Escobar and Virginia Vallejo respectively. The film is about the longstanding affair the two had during Pablo's rise until his death in 1993. Virginia was a journalist in Columbia who since fled to America for fear of her life. She later wrote a book, which then became this film. Being that this is a love story, their isn't much violence in the film. I was a little disappointed with Bardem's performance as I was hoping he was going to bring more to the film. At times he seemed to mumble and it made it difficult to hear him. At other times, you can clearly tell he was wearing a prosthetic belly to show the weight gain of Pablo. I thought it had some promise and unfortunately, was somewhat of a let down. If you want to see a great show about Pablo watch NARCOS on Netflix. It's fantastic and Wagner Moura is outstanding as Pablo. 5.5/10

SICARIO: DAY OF THE SOLDADO

I enjoyed the first SICARIO as it was a very interesting story, suspenseful, with a fantastic trio of leading actors (Emily Blunt, John Brolin and Benicio Del Toro). However, I was quite surprised when a second film was announced. This film continues the story of Matt Graver's (Brolin's) and Alejandro's (Del Toro's) relationship. The story is the Mexican drug cartels are helping terrorists cross the border illegally. As a result, the US government uses this as an excuse to manufacture a war between rival drug cartels by kidnapping the daughter of one of the heads of said cartels. Brolin and Del Toro are their normal badass selves, showing no emotion as these 2 heartless characters, who are nothing more than mercenaries. I was quite impressed with young Isabela Moner, who plays the kidnapped daughter of a cartel kingpin. She's able to hold her own and even push back against the likes of Del Toro in every scene she's in. Overall, it felt like a much longer film than it was, and while it wasn't bad, I enjoyed the first one more. Rumors are, depending on how this does at the box office, there's chatter of a third film and this film leaves the door open nicely to satisfy that need. 6/10

If u r into WW2 history like I, check out "Downfall".. based mainly on Hitler's secretary's memoirs on his last days in his bunker & the paranoia he endures within & around him as the allies move closer & closer... & he descends into madness ,,very moving & disturbing...released in 2004 w/Bruno Ganz in a riveting role.

I didn't want to leave blood on your carpet...
