I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE (2010)

A remake of the Meir Zarchi classic from 1978. It follows the same formula as the original, not adding but rather taking away from the original in my opinion. Not as brutal of a film as the original but what I had a problem with the most were the scenes in which Jennifer gets her revenge against her assailants. The death scenes I felt were very over the top, with contraptions that would impress even Jigsaw (this coming from a character who is a novelist by trade remember). In fact, the movie seemed to take an almost horror film feel to it by the midway point. An unnecessary remake that, with all of the controversy surrounding the original, I wasn't quite sure what they were hoping to gain with this? 5/10

Any one see the new Production of Jesus Christ Superstar a few days ago on tv?

If you did what did you think about it? Outside of all the commercials they ran during it. They should have did it like a football soccer game. Get them done before the start and at the half.

I saw it but I also saw the original Broadway production of it at a Theather here in a NYC.

Hey it’s on now.

I prefer the one starring Ben Vereen as Judas he could sing and he was a dancer, Jeff Fenholt as Jesus no Jesus can hit the notes that he could not John Legend, Barry Denen as Pilate and Yvonne Elliman was great.

That was a cast of stars.

Suddenly was a good movie.

I just saw Looking for An Echo it’s on you tube.

It never was released in a Theather. My friend Johnny was in it. Anthony Dennison, Armand Assante stared in it. Tom mason was the guy who lived in Staten Island.also played the cop who killed the father of Christopher Moltisanti on the sopranos. Kenny Vance did the music.

Worth seeing good movie.

Just saw another old science fiction movie from the 50s that I saw as a kid.

The Brain from Planet Aros starring John Agar. Low budget but good. If you have not seen it and your into old science fiction movies you might want to see it.

I don’t want to spoil it for you. I used to love those movies still do.

Shape of Water

Strange but compelling.
Can get a bit confusing but hang in there and stay with it.

I liked it. 6-7.5

Since my wife retired she expects me always to be with her. I retired years before she did. I need my time alone or with my friends. Now most of my friends are dead. But I still need my time alone.

A pretty solid role for Jon Hamm and it's always nice to see Rosamund Pike as I dig her work but her last few movies, this and 7 DAYS IN ENTEBBE, have been let downs. The story was trying to juggle too many parts I felt and I guess there was supposed to be a big reveal about 30 minutes in that wasn't that hard to actually figure out. Some but not much suspense. 5.5/10

My wife don’t Golf , don’t drink and does not Fish.

These are three things I like to do without her.

I will wait to see current Movies till she is ready since that is a solid entertainment we both enjoy.

I have a 55” SAMSUNG , pool table and fully stocked bar in basement for when my wife is mad at me...... I look forward to her being pissed off sometimes.

Better off going to the movies though.

Watched Dominic and Eugene today with Liotta and Hulce. Such an excellent movie. Hulce's performance was outstanding. It's a shame he retired from acting. It was pleasant to see Liotta in his prime.

A QUIET PLACE

A rollercoaster ride of emotions. I really enjoyed the fact there was so little dialogue and this was a fine example of how much of our communication isn't verbal, but physical. I didn't really see any loopholes in the writing which was a positive. I had one concern and without giving too much away, I'm satisified it was answered in the picture. Glad to see some originality coming out of Hollywood! Word is this almost became part of the CLOVERFIELD series and I'm happy it didn't. I'm glad it's standing on it's own, has received such positive reviews and was the #1 movie in the country last weekend. 6.5/10

This is one of Jason Clarke's better roles. He is cold, apathetic and uncaring at times. I give the costume and makeup people credit as I feel he even looks a little like Ted Kennedy. I was also happy to see Ed Helms branch out into something more dramatic and he does a passable job as the voice of reason during this whole situation. A decent story about power, corruption and politics. 6/10

RAMPAGE

Not a bad movie based upon a video game. How often can you say that? Action, humor and good special effects. It's a popcorn action movie for sure but also brings some feelings for these animals, especially George. I did dig Jeffrey Dean Morgan as a smooth talking, southern government man. Besides The Rock he probably stole the show for me. 6/10

BLOCKERS

A decent comedy that had some hits and some misses. I'm glad to see John Cena getting more involved in Hollywood and with decent movies too, not just straight-to-DVD garbage. The trio of parents (Ike Barinholtz, John Cena and Leslie Mann) seemed to have decent chemistry together as well. 5/10

I saw Jason Clark in two things. One was a show on showtime. Called the Brotherhood a good show.

The other was that movie on hunting for Ben the the giant Arab terrorist who they caught and killed. But gave a good muslem burial at sea. They did not even piss on his dead fucking body.

TRUTH OR DARE

Blumhouse is kind of hit or miss for me and this was a miss. Truth be told, I wasn't expecting much from this film anyway but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Yes, the premise is stupid and that smile annoying. Not much suspense or decent death scenes. It's PG-13 so other than language, it's pretty watered down. 4/10
