I agree....there could be so many speculations as to why and how that hit went down the way it did the timeframe does a play a huge role in the whole situation also I think Nics wanted to say hello in his own way also being that they got into a argument prior to that hit happening ... I think when Nics seen him he said you know what fuck this piece of shit you think your somebody well I'm gonna show you your a nobody and boom said fuck it I'm gonna hit this prick rite here rite now Baby Dom is my best friend he will take care of my family while I'm gone and when I come back my boy Dom is gonna be king of the hill in Philly and we're gonna live like Kings lol .... I hear what you are saying from a logical and a business perspective.
Look at Depietro, Deligatti, Meldish, Pizzulo
None of those hits or attempted hits really made any sense at all.
There are guys out there that will take a shot and there are seasoned leaders like Stevie Wonder that will still order a senseless murder.
Did they have to kill Meldish, they couldn't have just sent him to the hospital a few times and run him out of town? Every time my guys hear you are in town you are talking a trip to the hosiptial??
My point is could you ever really 100% count it out?

Hoodlum
I don't feel so young but I realize that is a relative to whom you are speaking with LOL
Yes since childhood
In the belly of beast
To give you an idea of what it was like:
Bronx Tale was about as close as you could get to the real thing.
1) With C, living within close proximity to a hang-out or club, the olderguys taking a liking to the GOOD KID and watching out for him and taking him under their wing. 2) Then growing up a little bit and the older guys schooling you, us kids looking up to those guys like they were GODS, 3) The younger guys trying to imitate and impress the older guys, they start asking for small favors, a broken window, slashed tire, and we were so happy to do it just to get their attetieion. The problem with that was the older you got the more serious the favors got... Steel a car, Burn a Car and you can imagine where this is going.... A lot like in Good Fella's with Henry Hill and Joe Pesci, you get older and get more involved.. It was no big deal.... It was Normal... It felt like everyone was in on some sort of racket.
4) The scene in the Bar with the Bikers, I have many different versions of that type of story, the part with Pesci getting hit with a bat over a parking spot, stuff on that level very common, All of C's friends acting like wanna bee's, there was a crew of wannab'ees on every avenue. 5) To the part where Sunny gets whacked in the bar, every so often there was a body in the street, or someone disappeared. 6) Goodfella's when Henry Hill was young and the cab stand, again the ineratcion between the younger and older generation. 7) The God Father being the old timers in the neighborhood and how they would act all dressed in suits like business men. 8) Scar Face the newer generation running around selling drugs
There was a side to it that was very neighborhoody you knew just about everyone and everyone knew you and your family. Everyone watched out for everyone. For the most part.
You grew up fast and the neighborhood taught you lessons like respect, Respect your elders, respect woman, children
Mind your business, Keep your mouth shut Never talk to cops
And if you didn't learn your lesson you would end up in a trunk. Most learned...
It was a lot of fun At times scary, sometimes VERY SCARY Some really sad storys as well...
I would imagine Philly was like a mini version of what I described above??

I agree certain parts were cheesy
I was more giving the background of the story line
Of the parts i could relate to
In one case:
The actor that played "SLICK" when they were teenagers his name is Joe Dinofrio Joey Zane I grew up with him in bensonhurst
He wasn't so much acting as he was re-inacting his teenage years in bensonhurst
He was a very big graffitti artist back then ZANE was his tage name
He was from the Bay Parkway Boys, B.P.B.
He was very close to Richie Greaves AKA Richie Bes was his tag name Zane and Bes they tagged all over Brooklyn, the Trains, Train Stations, Buses and Garbage trucks.
They were both close to Lil Dino and Joey Caves Competello
Richie Greaves was the one they killed in the basement
The other part from Brox tale where Joey Zane was really re-living his younger years was he had his own Graffitti crew, White Boys Run Shit -- WRS
They fought with, Ricans Won Shit the RWS crew from Sunset Park Brooklyn
In the Bronx Tale he was fighting with African Americans
So some of the parts were very real

Bronx tale was a knock off of the Goodfellas with a little different twist. Some of the lines and actions in the Tale were corny. I love the movie but its half a copy. How was it a knock off? I don't see it at all, completely different. Completley different? Are you kidding Nicky? The story line, the narative, the growing up in the nab, travel true time...etc. it's def a knock off, and don't get me wrong I love the movie very much but good fellas did it first, and the fellas is more complex that's why it's regarded as one of the best movies ever and its a 5 time better movie than the Tale.

Yes, the majority of Bronx Tale is about racial tension and dating outside of your race, Goodfellas has none of that in it. Maybe the beginnings in both are slightly similar, but maybe that would have to do with Deniro directing Bronx Tale and starring in Goodfellas.

No one calls him ‘Baby Dom’, that’s a joke. And as for as bent finger goes, the only person he should be scared of is Borgesi. And I’m sure as shit he is scared of Borgesi. Isn't Borgesi just a bully with a Napoleon complex though? He used to torture Angelo Lutz. Genuine tough guys don't need to bully physically weak people to exert their dominance.

Dave Salvo (Ligambi & Borgesi associate, possibly recently made) at The Safety Group Press Conference in Philly in 2017. The Safety Group is a joint Genovese and Philly Family backed construction safety company. Rooster O'nofrio had an FBI Undercover on a no-show job there and came down to Philly prior to the Philly office opening/launch, which apparently Borgesi was running for Merlino. Alex Rodriguez is mobbed up. Yankees weren't paying him enough?

Uncle Joe and the whole admin We're on trial
No way uncle Joe Sanctioned that hit
Hard to figure out
As for thinking Dom was going to take care of his family
If he was the shooter He took more of a risk than Nicedemo
These guys with these sloppy hits I mean I can't imagine he is saying to himself I can't believe I got caught?
yes these two guys did this on their own . no mob hit. just a plain shoot u in the back killing. over a card game $$ argument.

Not just that back in the day there would of been a open contract on anyone that testified, nowadays fucking guy can come to a party with people on the fringe and nothing will happen.
40 years ago he would not make it through the first drink.
“ Strange “ I was in a building I am buying in AC and who walked in I have not seen in years Mike Rossman the light heavyweight champ “ did not know any locals were left in AC . He is half jewish and half Italian took the Jewish name from his mother for fighting purposes but we would go see everyone of his fights I think his first was here in AC at the Convention center on the boardwalk back in the early 70s he looks good and still in shape.
He was a lot of fun to be around when he was not training he reminded me of the Blade when he would let lose and pick up the bottle he was born on Mississippi ave. Ducktown. I used to work at the Trop in the 80's, the Kosher Butchers wife/girlfriend/goomar also worked there, I can remember him slapping the shit out of her, the security guards were too afraid of him to confront him!

Dom has been living it up in Margate this whole entire summer, spending a lot of time at the Shore this year. Is that because he has a trusted individual handling his book back in South Philadelphia, or because there is less of a book to handle back in South Philadelphia, what with legalized gambling at Monmouth Park and the new AC place that Marky Mark is a partner in opening up (the old revel)?

That makes no difference it’s a 40 - 50 minute ride down AC expressway..... and for most part nobody wants to put up the cash first and if they do they only do it once or twice then just walk a half of block and put the bet in the neighborhood.

Uh... Baby Dom comes from a rich gangland pedigree and has a number of veteran Bruno-Scarfo button men vouching for him on the street. His dad is Salvatore (Wayne) Grande, a 1980s era mob hit man currently residing in the Witness Protection Program. Hell of a pedigree. Dad was a drug dealer who set up his own wife's brother, then went into WPP w/o family. "Pedigree." Lol. Then the kid, instead of making something out of his life, falls into the same dead-end pit. But he has "pedigree." The b-level fan-fic written about these guys would be humorous if not so scary. He'll be doing life before he's 45 and still some guy in Minnesota will be reading a flowerly farewell to the end of his "life on the street." So weird.

Back then we ate in every new restaurant stayed in every suite including Sinatra,s on a regular in Nugget the old Nugget we went to every fight comped at every bar parked at every parking lot that just so happened to be a very very good place to make cash in many rackets. That was my initial question than I also said a lot of times when a Shooter brings guys up and grooms em' Guess what they become??
Not Brain Surgeons, Not white collar guys....
So if what I am reading is correct
The "RAT" Finger Lou I don't know what he is doing locally Bensonhurst...I do know ur relatively young..BUT U also seem 2 know ur shit...did u actually grow up in Bensonhurst??...I've been watchin u a while now & ur the 1rst newbie that needs no tutoring...as if I'm the 1 2 do such a foul thing..I'm not so old on this board , but I do know a lot about CERTAIN things & certain ppl.....my xperiences 1rst hand go mostly back 2 the same ppl. that Serp know, But he is king when it comes down 2 the old school Bruno Family...what I'm trying 2 say is stay as u r & b ur self which is who I c so far in a poster named Bensonhurst...oh, the history in that place..wish I wudda been born there sometimes...just 2 feel the magic & energy..Peace . Hoodlum, Sorry just read ur text. Haven't been on here in a while I need to try to activate the message alert feature so I can know if someone responds to my messge. As for being young I guess that is relative to who you are speaking I am mid 40's. Yes born and raised in BensonHURST family came from Sicily. Being Italian and from BensonHURST there was no way to not at least be in the know, it was just everywhere. Large Italian family there are/we're the family that were part of it. Growing up we all idolized these guys looked up to them and wanted to be them. We thought they had it all. Women, Money, Respect, Power... So than the time comes where you get involved in a small way.. They ask you to break a window, and then burn a car etc... As you get more life experience you see what happens to those who open their mouth, or those who dont listen to what they are told by them. You have a friend or two that turns up dead or a friends father or older brothers. You have some friends that get locked up and go.away. As You get older You have a choice to make for some it was too late They got in over their head and there was no way out. Some had to leave and never come back. Their families destroyed. SCARY SHIT when the guys at the club are deciding your fate. Or when you get called in by a guy or guys that you know murdered people. No where to turn your only option is hopefully you know someone from that life, someone who is legit not just a wannabe. That will stand up for you. You go to the cops the whole neighborhood would turn against you. You and ur family will end up getting abused until you moved away. Thank God it's not like that anymore. It's not 10% of what it was. It's not dead but to get caught up now you really wanted to get involved and have no one to blame. Even so no one is getting killed today so even the threat of. You have guys that ratted and are still.around today and nothing happens to them.
