Looks good, just watching the 1st episode. Good enough. But tbh I'd prefer something about the 'ndragheta or the Camorra...
-I shot him a coupla' times. -What's a couple? -Hmm, more than a couple... Really I don't know the exact amount, maybe I shot him 10 times, 12 times? -Maybe fifteen? -Hmm, it could've been fifteen...
That it takes place in Rome makes it even more awesome to me, the city is a character in and of itself. More than 20 centuries of civilization, history, religion and power..
As Samurai says, “This place hasn’t changed in 2000 years. Patricians, plebeians, politicians and criminals, whores and priests… Rome.”
Netflix has brought a lot of good original content out the last weeks. I watched the whole season of Mindhunter over the weekend, that's the first show I binged like that in a very long time. The only critique I have is that there weren't enough episodes..
"...the successful annihilation of organized crime's subculture in America would rock the 'legitimate' world's foundation, which would ultimately force fundamental social changes and redistributions of wealth and power in this country. Meyer Lansky's dream was to bond the two worlds together so that one could not survive without the other." - Dan E. Moldea
I started season 1 but really couldn’t get into it. I think I finished 2-3 episodes. Does it get a lot better as it goes on? I prefer Gomorrah by far from what I’ve seen of Suburra.
First, the movie is excellent. I too started the series and didn't return until much later. The series follows the film but is more built out. It's excellent. I stayed up every evening into the a.m. till finished.
Yeah I saw the film first then the series. The connections between them are so confusing, like at the beginning of the series it looks like they are trying to make a prequel for the film, but half way changed their mind and changed everything so there`s no consistency in the end. But yeah the film is good, the series is only so so.
