Total Recall(2012).

Nowhere near as good as the original with Arnold.

But Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel just about make up for it.

I watched Dead Presidents (1995) last night.

Decent film about a Vietnam vet adjusting to life after the war while trying to support his family, but the chance of a better life may involve crime and bloodshed..

7/10

Chains of gold(1991).

"Scott Barnes (Travolta) is an alcoholic turned social worker hellbent on saving a young boy named Tommy (Lawrence) from self-destructing when he finds out he has begun selling crack in an organization called YIP."

Was actually a decent watch, it's up on youtube at the moment. Had never heard of it before.

Last 3 movies I saw at the theater were Fences, John Wick 2, and Split. I thought Fences had great acting and great dialogue but too many events (and even entire characters) were referenced rather than shown onscreen, making it very obvious that it was based on a play (which I did not know ahead of time). I don't mind movies based on plays so long as they don't hide the ball. A Few Good Men was based on a play but I never got the impression it was taking place in a box. Fences seemed very limited setting and plot wise.

Split and John Wick 2 are much more popcorn/fluff movies but I personally enjoyed them more. All three are good in vastly different ways, but I rank them Split>Wick>Fences.

Saw white nights I forgot how talented Gregory Hines was he can dance, and he had a great voice. In the movie he sang a song from Porgie and Bess. He sang the song boat to New York better then Sammy Davis Jr sang it in the 1950s.

Unfortunately he did not make music CDs too bad. He died very young.

John Wick 2 was entertaining. Next on my list to see is Logan. Anybody see it yet?

Just saw the movie "the last night inn"

Its is a movie about an inn called the last night inn. 4 different groups of people check in. It's a dramady. comedy and drama a saw it mainly because my friend Johnny is in it. But has a weird story ending it is actually almost every one who is in the inn it's there last night on earth. The place is like the Roach motel you can check in but you are not checking out at least not alive. While I was watching it I was wondering why Johnny did not ask me to invest in it. Then I saw why if he did and I saw his part it the movie I would have shot him myself smile

Watching flick from 1993 called Extreme Justice.

Good film so far, and it CLEARLY inspired a film that came out years later.

Lou Diamond Phillips is in it. That's usually a signal to NOT watch a film, but he's ok in this so far.

Anyone ever watch this?

As a child, we used to have this, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) and Empire of the Sun and nothing else on VHS and I'd watch this when I was bored and home alone. I must have watched it 20 times.

I thought it was a really good action movie and Belushi and Gossett kicked ass in the lead roles.

IDK how it would hold up watching it now.

There will be blood. One of those movies I had only seen a little bit of on amc but couldn't figure out the name of it until a few years later. It's a long one, but I loved the ending.

American Psycho - 7/10

Very quirky movie and a good performance from Bale.

I love those two movies. Interesting, Foots. Never realized that he was an East Harlem guy. Very cool. The toughest guys come from that neighborhood imo.

I'll look up the YouTube vid must be funny.

The Giglio feast at Mount Carmel 114 street. Every so often it was lifted from a different block we went to the feast.

Not offen we stayed within a few blocks from where we lived. But if you wanted to go to the park or go to the pool you went to Jefferson park. We played American football against other blocks teams. We played against the Hun 8 guys that is how I met the Prisco's, Anthony santorelli and Ray Ray and horse and other wackos, Hun 9 boys met younger guys Johnny my best living friend the movie star wink more or less, and others including Michael Meldish. Then we played a Hun 16 Ponzo team he was Johnny Delightfuls brother. Later my friend Johnny played for them and those nut jobs some of them are still around somewhere.

The red wings were named after the red wing block I Knew them. Johnny babysitter was a red wing deb I think I fucked her some where along the line. They redwings wanted me because I was a pretty good thief. They thought they could make money off me. I was never a follower so no. I like to make money doing what I did best on my own. Had another friend Donnie he lived in my old building. His father left his mother. His mother met a guy he did not want kids. So his mother gave him up to live with his two uncles in my building. We hit it off and we were thieves together. Miss Donnie later he got hooked on heroin and began robbing on his own. He robbed the wrong guy and the guy had him killed.

it started in Italian Harlem. I was with Meldish when we saw the movie Purple Gang about the Detroit Purple Gang. He dug it and said we should start our own Purple Gang here. He actually did it. Then people joined him from all over poor Meldish no one lives forever. They even had ties with the IRA sold guns to them. They would hide their fugitives here.

He was a friend of Johnny more then he was a friend of mine. Johnny was not like us but if Johnny was a friend he was a friend he did not care what you did he was not a fair weather friend. My kids all dig Johnny. When John first came for a visit me at my new house. He was parked with his mother and daughter. I forgot he was coming I saw a car parked I came from his blind side I had my gun out then I saw it was him and put it in my pocket.

Killing Them Softly(2012)

Wasn't sure about this movie the first few times i watched it, but after the third time or so, really enjoyed it, especially Brad Pitt's character.

"Who's running things?"

You have no idea. No decision-makers.

I've got to take them by the hand and I've got to walk them...
slowly through it like they're retarded children.

What is it, a committee?

Total corporate mentality.

Christ's sake.
This country is fucked, I'm telling you.
There's a plague coming.

Wall Street - 8/10

Only seen this movie recently despite it being old. Second time watching it there. Good film.

Never been the biggest fan of Douglas or Charlie Sheen, but both were excellent.
