Who y'all have this week? I forget.

We have Colorado State and Ole Miss coming the next two weeks.

Auburn, First test of the year. Not a strong one but better than the clowns we have been playing

Hell y'all should kill them. If not, I'd worry. People try to talk them up because they are 3-0 but they've beat Washington State, Arkansas State, and Miss State.

Handed it to them pretty easily. Miles called the dogs off after the first half which made the game look a lot closer. I dont know about the defense I think Georgia might kill us. Hopefully our D steps up. You worried about Ole Miss?

Nah Ole Siss will keep it close like they normally do with us, but we will be able to handle them as usual. I expect it to be a lot like last year, early troubles (and possibly even them leading at the half) then we pull away by two scores late. We always look flat against them.

I think you'll beat UGA by 1-2 TD's. I just don't think they will be able to handle y'all.

Shyte.....and that's all I'm gonna say.....put a dint in my season and its not even mid October. The dint usually comes when we play you guys. Y'all should have no trouble carving a pretty picture out of our defense.

I was very surprised they played Defense like they did against UGA. Very surprising. I'm not writing LSU off yet though, always a scary game.

Speaking of SEC football, what's this crap (and it's not exactly new) where you have several SEC teams playing 8 home games and 4 away games?

The NCAA should make a new rule that every team has to play the same amount of home and away games.

That is all. Carry on.

Most teams have at least 7, so what is the big deal about it?

Bama only has 7 home games this year.

I'm guessing that the conference games are 50/50, but the cupcakes that fill the schedule play at the home of the bigger program.

I'm not sure it's true that most teams do have at least 7 home games a year. I'd look into it more right now but I gotta go to work. But I will when I get home.

That's true and it shouldn't be that way.

A quick search shows that the teams that have 7 home games are primarily those from the so called "power conferences." rolleyes

And Alabama has 8 home games and only 4 away games this year. That's BS.

I don't care if you check up on what I say, I know what I'm talking about.....LOL

Why is it BS?

And you better check your facts again bud, Bama DOES NOT have 8 home games this year.

In case you are new to college football, the power programs PAY the smaller programs to play the bigger schools at home. They are called money games for a reason. The smaller schools have more of a balanced schedule because they play those bigger schools on the road so they can meet their athletic department budget every year. Without that, they go under.

First, the last thing I am is "new" to college football.

Second, I rechecked and they have 7 home games, 1 at a neutral site, and a whopping 4 away games. And don't give me this crap about the "power programs" doing the money games for the sake of the little guy. It's them using exploiting their position by filling up the rest of their schedule with easy home games, usually against powder puffs.

The rule should be an equal amount of home and away games.

But there is a double edged sword. All of the powers schedule games against some smaller schools, but the smaller schools need these games to continue to fund, grow and legitimize their programs. They know they can't compete with the big conference powers, but the smaller school athletic directors know that their teams are benefited not only by revenue, but by recruiting. The field of potential recruits widens when high school players, unable to get scholarships from the top schools, know they still may have the chance to play every year at Tuscaloosa, Ann Arbor, Athens or South Bend.

SEC Games are split 50/50 as mentioned earlier.

When teams like LSU and Alabama play their weaker games, they play at home. So IVY what your saying is that they should play these weaker teams away?

The reason they play at home is because these smaller schools get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars from the proceeds of playing a large name school in the larger stadium. So you would rather LSU go play at Alcorn State in Alcorn State stadium that sits what maybe 40-50K People instead of playing at LSU which sits 90K plus and generates more revenue that will in turn be given to the smaller school.

Please explain your reasoning Ivy. I'm trying to understand your Godly knowledge on LCN and college football because your coming off as a guy that likes to flame the fire more than anything.

Okay, What college did you graduate from? Maybe LSU and Alabama can play you guys year on out from now on? home or away, it shouldn't be a problem because it won't hurt either of our school's national championship hopes year to year.

I guess he is whining that we will get beat if we don't play 7 home games every year (like that matters).

LaLou hit it dead on the head.

Let's see, we can play Western Carolina this week who travels to Auburn. You honestly think Auburn should travel to WCU's campus which holds maybe 20,000 people? If they did, half of them would be Auburn fans and most of the revenue would go to the city INSTEAD of Western Carolina University. WCU could probably sell 10k in tickets but you are talking at what? $10 a pop?

Instead they are in Auburn, where WCU probably CLEARS $300,000 from this game alone. So do we travel for 300k or sit at home for a HOPEFUL 100k (that is estimating very high at that)? Like I said earlier it is all about the money. If the bigger schools just played each other no money changes hands and you will see most of the smaller D1 schools go back down to DII or just flat out quit football because they CAN NOT sustain themselves otherwise. There are not many football programs turning a profit, much less living without that money. The smaller schools couldn't handle it.

I also find it funny you would assume Bama or LSU would do all of this just to get an easy team. Hell almost every team we play is easy these days. We damn sure are not running away from anyone.

And like I said, Bama has 7 home games with 5 AWAY FROM HOME. Neutral site or not it is not a home game like you thought when you "quick checked" your references.

Yea lets make every school play 6 and 6, wont change much other than making schools go bankrupt. Good business idea......LMAO

All of you are bringing up the money angle as if that's supposed to mean a hill of beans. One of the problems with college football is that money influences it too much.

The Alabamas of the world don't schedule these patsies out of charitable good will. They do it to soften up their non-conference schedule. And the already biased pollsters let them get away with it. I suppose a team can schedule who they want but the NCAA should at least ensure that an equal number of home and away games are played unless teams want to play on a neutral field.

I'm a die-hard BYU fan, though I didn't attend that school. And I'd be fine with them playing Alabama or whoever.

But more than that, college football needs a legit playoff. Each and every team should have the same chance to ultimately play for a real national title - which results from a playoff and not BS biased polls and convoluted computer calculations - if they do what they need to do. Without that in place, every so called "national championship" is quasi at best. What they've put in place is a step forward, away from the BCS cartel, but it's not good enough yet.

A neutral site doesn't count as an "away" game. But, like I said, I'm fine with neutral site games. But Alabama shouldn't be playing 7 home games and only 4 away games.

Yep was nice to see UGA get shut up as well. They have been beating their chest for a while claiming they were a top team.

I'm glad we took down FLA, our D look night and day better. All we need is Mizzou or SC to win out in the east and which ever of our teams play them in the SEC Championship should be an easy ticket to the NC. (no offense on Mizzou Frank!)

Dixie, November 9th, Circle it on your calendar. That's the game to decide who the next National champion is.

Wow. What can I say?

We watched the Bama/LSU/auBARN games from the track and it was just a crazy day!

I just knew Ole Siss was going to blow the game like they did against aTm!

With Georgia, South Carolina, LSU and A & M losing in conference upsets, the SEC almost devoured itself Saturday.

How about those Seminoles? Kicked some Clemson ass. Maybe a challenge for the SEC.

FSU's win Saturday night was the most impressive win of the season so far. Maybe an Alabama/FSU national championship game is on the horizon.
