Thanks for that.

Even Israel doesn't need women in combat and yet certain small, shrill groups in the US want us to believe there is some pressing need. Even to the point of them being drafted. Any honest observer can see this isn't a military question at all. It's a political and social engineering one.

I hope his body doesn't reject it. I think about the soldiers who lost their genitals in IED blasts in the Middle East who could be helped. I remember there was a British-Pakistani who lost his "member" in a childhood car accident and recently had his replaced with a "bionic penis" and later "tested" with a prostitute (or sex worker as they call them over there): http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/01/12/my-night-with-the-world-s-first-bionic-penis.html

Here's a story about the first transplant: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/articl...rcumcision.html

SOPRANOS-JAMES GANDOLFINI DEATH

Heard this interesting story on the radio this morning. When James Gandolfini died in Italy of a massive heart attack, apparently a paramedic stole his rolex watch. Can you imagine? uhwhat The guy's name is Claudio Bevilacqua.

Reporter mentioned a "Sopranos connection" to this guy. They mentioned the Soprano actor who got arrested and is serving jail time. I remember the story but not the details. ANYWAY they said either the actor's name or his character name was Bevilacqua AND that the character stole or attempted to steal a watch from his victim. Are they confusing the name with Bobby Bacala?

Anyone remember that guy or that particular scene or guy's character/real name? I don't.

Pretty slimy stealing a watch from a dying guy. mad

People steal from dead or dying people all the time. Ambulance drivers, hospital employees and people who come to the house for sales of things the next of kin are selling from the dead persons house.

Someone stole an omega watch I bought my mother. Someone my mother knew took it. A lot of people were there so I could not say for sure who took it.

Ahh Thanks. So they were right. His character did have same last name as the watch thief. Do you know if Brancato is still serving time?

Some of us think that some things these days are a phenomena of our day and age. This article is about domestic terrorism that took place in 1927. Some things never change.

It just another low budget movie. Baldwin must be friends of one of the actors or the producer. He lent his name to the project so it could get financing. If you go see it count the minutes Baldwin is in it. It can't be to many.

It does have the actress who played Tony Sopranos girl friend the wacky girl who sold Mercedes. Trillio who they said killed herself. She wanted Tony to take her too the zoo.

The Mafia apparently rigged Italian prison guard exams

The Mafia apparently rigged Italian prison guard exams

For nearly 8,000 young Italians hungry for work, the state exam last month for just 400 jobs as prison guards was a fiasco. For the Mafia, it may have been a great opportunity, prosecutors in Rome say.

They are now investigating widespread and organized cheating, with 88 people caught wearing bracelets or mobile phone covers carrying the answers to the test, or with radio transmitters and earpieces thought to have been used to pipe in the answers.

The Camorra Mafia north of Naples, based where a company printed the exams, may have gotten hold of the answers and tried to get its own people inside a prison system that is holding 7,000 gang members, including some 700 bosses, prosecutors say.

The Mafia clan is also thought to have sold the answers to other applicants for as much as 25,000 euros ($28,000), according to posts on social media.

The Rome court would not give details of the investigation, but the Justice Ministry wants to nullify the exam results.

“It’s shameful,” Donato Capece, general secretary of Italy’s biggest union for penitentiary workers, Sappe, said of the possible rigging of the exam. “We were the first ones to ask the ministry for clarity” after cheating was discovered, he said.

In Italy, where youth unemployment has been about 40 percent for three years and full-time staff jobs are nearly impossible to find, the exam sheds light on some of the woes that have long afflicted the economy: widespread corruption, pervasive Mafia influence, a lack of meritocracy and a rigid labor market.

“Unfortunately, those who deserve jobs often are not the ones who get them,” said 29-year-old Mina, one of the 1,400 women to take the prison guard exam. “We don’t get to have dreams for the future.”

Cheating in exams for public jobs is not uncommon in Italy, and there have been several criminal investigations in recent years, including into tests for a university professorship and to be a traffic policeman.

In a square near the Justice Ministry in Rome on Tuesday, dozens of people in their 20s who took the test in April, as well as Sappe members, blew whistles, waved flags and sang the national anthem, demanding that the government immediately hire 1,000 new guards.

“I would be proud to wear a uniform for the state,” said Mario, 25. “But it’s also a question of finding a job because it’s very difficult in Italy to find employment and have a future.”

Protesting alongside him, Maurizio, 24, said: “We’re sick of Italy’s indifference and code of silence.”

Ex-cop busted in prostitution ring is CEO of massive porn shop

The disability retirement ex-cop turned cyber pimp has also been moonlighting as the CEO of the largest porn shop on the East Coast, The Post has learned.

State records show that Michael Rizzi — the 44-year-old NYPD veteran busted for running a massive online prostitution ring — also runs Nitecap Megastore & Smoke Shop, a “professional adult wonderland” on Staten Island that claims to be “the cleanest dirty store in New York.”

It is the largest supplier of porn and adult toys on the entire East Coast and is located in the shadow of the Goethals Bridge at 690 Gulf Ave.

On Wednesday — and for the second time this week — Rizzi was released on a $100,000 bond after being arraigned in Brooklyn Supreme Court. He posted bond a day earlier in federal court, but was immediately taken back into custody after an unloaded gun was found during the raid on his home.

Meanwhile, sources recalled today how Rizzi “married into the mob” and quickly became one of their henchman.

“He’s a disgrace to the badge,” a source said. “He’s a bigtime player in the Gambinos. He’s not just a hanger on.”

The source remembered how Rizzi and his wife’s family, the Julianos, once scared a burglar working for the Colombos so bad he skipped town.

Despite the charges against him, sources said the nine-year NYPD vet will not lose his disability pension if convicted. He is scheduled to appear back in court on Friday

The National Toxicology Program (NTP), a division of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), has found a link between the type of radiation emitted by cell phones and cancer in rats. The project has been underway for more than a decade, and with a $25 million price tag, is the most expensive ever undertaken by the program.

The study involved more than 2,500 rodents, exposed to the same type of radiation found in cell phones, at the same frequencies, for nine hours everyday, for two years.

The findings—that male rodents experienced low incidences of two types of tumors—seem to support earlier findings from epidemiological studies, which found the same types of tumors in humans, and which led the International Agency for Research on Cancer to classify radiation as a possible human carcinogen, back in 2011. The tumors found were gliomas (in the brain), and schwannomas (of the heart).

That is not news. I tried to tell the kids not to use cell phones as their regular phones, but they do what they want.

I use a regular house phone when I am home. I carry a cell phone when I go out and have to make a call. I don't answer cell calls that call me when I am out.

How that for old school.

http://www.denverpost.com/2016/06/01/former-swedish-medical-center-employee-tests-positive-for-hiv/

The former Swedish Medical Center employee facing federal drug theft charges for allegedly stealing syringes with liquid painkillers from the hospital carries HIV, federal prosecutors revealed Wednesday.

Rocky Allen, who agreed to release results of his blood testing, was found to be negative for Hepatitis B and C.

So far, no reported transmissions of HIV or hepatitis B or C have surfaced, the U.S. attorney’s office in Colorado said in a statement. Authorities earlier said Allen carried a bloodborne pathogen, but until Wednesday they had not said which one.

The revelation that Allen carries HIV, subtype b, surfaced on the same day that public health officials announced they had found Swedish, the Englewood hospital that fired Allen in January, deficient for drug auditing procedures as well as infection control and surgical services.

The hospital said it had come up with a plan that corrected issues identified in an April report from the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment. The investigation was prompted by the disclosure of Allen’s arrest on federal drug theft charges.

“The items cited were not directly related to this case,” said Nicole Williams, a spokesman for Swedish. “Upon re-survey, the Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division found Swedish Medical Center to have zero deficiencies.”

Allen worked at Swedish as a surgical technician from August 2015 to January 2016. Swedish reached out to about 3,000 patients who might have been affected by his actions to offer free testing for bloodborne pathogens. Prosecutors said about 2,500 of the patients were tested but that about 500 of those did not participate in recommended follow-up testing. That means there was no testing or incomplete testing for approximately 1,000 patients. Officials encourage those potentially affected patients to take advantage of the free testing still being offered by Swedish.
