Very, very saddened to hear the news. With all the false reports of Abe Vigoda's death over the years, one got the feeling he would outlive us all.

This is one time when he was on everyone's list!

Sorry to hear about Abe's passing. But damn, 94 yrs old? God bless him. I read his daughter said he "died of old age. He was never sick." Amazing!!

Btw, is this the first person that EVERYONE had on their list? Of course after all the false alarms, it was bound to be true eventually. Although, there's still Zsa Zsa. Isn't she about the same age?

Yes..he was a fixture throughout my childhood as well as later life..RIP, ABE.

It is sad because he was such a likable character. On the other hand he lived a long life and is to be expected that he would die soon.

I first saw Vigoda on Broadway back around 1967. My sister-in-law's sister was an actress and she was in a play "Marat-Sade" (an artsy kind of thing I would not normally go to see). Anyway, Vigoda was in the play and although I don't remember taking note of him I was somewhat surprised of learning that some years later when I looked up some info on the production.

I always liked him as "Fish" on television and enjoyed seeing him more recently in some commercials.

Was a big fan of Vigoda for The Godfather and Barney Miller. People often thought he was Italian, but he was the son of Samuel and Lena Vigoda, Russian Jewish immigrants.

I actually got to meet and talk with Abe Vigoda many years ago. It was back in 1986, and I was called in to meet with him and discuss possible ideas for his makeup because he was going to appear in a revival of the play "Arsenic & Old Lace." His character was supposed to look like Boris Karloff (who originated the role in 1941) after recent plastic surgery. We talked for about a half-hour, and I tried out a couple of ideas on his face. Ultimately, we both decided to downplay any heavy makeup, and just suggest a couple of scars with makeup pencils. He probably didn't need that either, because his face certainly had that baleful, gaunt look without my "enhancements"!

We didn't discuss GF, or "Barney Miller" or anything like that, though. But he was a very nice fellow, no "star ego". He was just what you saw in his interviews. Just a regular guy who happened to be a working actor.

Thanks to the internet, I listened to Wogan in the Morning quite a bit in the last few years of the show. It was a very pleasant way to start the morning.

Was a great ambassador for the Irish in Britain, at a time when it was difficult to be Irish in Britain.

I guess the AP has been screwing up again. I recently saw a post that Bob Denver passed away again (he passed back in 2005). This has to be the third time for him, and I won't get into Rue Mcclanahan. Anyways, I believe it's best to look the person up on google/Wikipedia before.
