Faithful1- When I was listening to that song the beginning reminded me of the song Layla for some reason. It has like a punk vibe to it too. And I could swear I heard a bit of the style of Zeppelin like in the song Kasmir. What an interesting song. Very upbeat. Never heard it before.

Now this one is a strange one, but I love the mind trip. It starts out pretty corny....please listen patiently until the middle and finale, when Little Dragon joins in, the definition of pure badness awaits...enjoy...

Plastic Beach is one of my favorite albums...had never heard of the band ,Gorillaz, but they put together a great album.
right now I'm listening to songs from Cesaria Evora.
Friend of mine had tickets to a concert of hers at the NJPAC several years ago. I didn't understand ONE word but I felt like I could understand what she was saying

Getnets, I often find that when I finally learn what someone is actually singing about on a record, that the music sounds less good. That's strange because the music itself hasn't changed an iota.
Enjoy that lady's music as long as you can before you give in to curiosity and look up the lyrics. She might be singing about something completely different and less interesting than what you think.

Interesting take, Alfa. I listen to some Jamaican dancehall records and I can halfway make out what they are saying but the energy of the music translates what it's about.
I won't look up the lyrics but one habit I have which annoyed the people who attended the concert with us to no end was..I HAVE to figure out who the American counterpart to an international celeb is.

That made me chuckle. I remember many years ago, almost every reggae song was some knock off of an American hit. That was probably back in the 80's. Not so much today.
