Can't say I have ever heard of him, but this Albanian apparently was very close to the Locascio's driving for Frank and had Tore as his best man at his wedding. Sounds like he made a ton of money. http://www.villagevoice.com/news/the-mobs-multimillion-dollar-batter-6404868

All your years here and you've never heard of Zef, Nicky? That's a very old article. Today Zef is retired and living the good life like just about everyone else involved in that score.

Last year when Richie Martino was getting ready to come home, and everyone was speculating that he'd be in the administration and yada yada yada, who was the only guy here to say that he was gonna sit back and enjoy his millions, just like his compare?

Me, that's who! tongue grin

That was a once in a generation score, and it set up half a dozen guys for life, even after the forfeitures. Fuck the street. With that money, Zef should buy an island and never wear a pair of shoes again for as long as he lives. He could survive that way, too. He's a very primal guy. Of course, someone would have to fly in a case of vodka every three days, but that's a story for another day wink lol.

As in, ever.

NS: Dockers or Eagles? Not that it matters, both doing well.

Yes. His brother, too. But he never got much press, so we'll leave him out of this discussion.

New Zealand? You have no idea how happy that makes me, Nicky. I'll be in touch. But it's almost 4:00 am here, and I gotta get some sleep.

Is this the Albanian that was involved in Parello's son's death?

Kind of off topic but many people always would talk about how the Albanians are going to overtake the Italians and push them out blah blah blah, seems to me that the number of Albanians working for the mob is far greater than the one crew that was dumb enough to go against them.

Anyone know who the Genovese capo was that was complaining about the Albanians in the article?

Yeah, he got off. But the kid who helped him beat the case disappeared. This was a cop's kid, too. But he was no fucking good. He perjured himself for money and disappeared. He hasn't been seen in twenty years.

Mirdita went on to become a career scumbag with a yellow sheet a mile long. He did a lot of state time on a weapons charge if I remember correctly, and a couple of his relatives were murdered in Albania. I'm sure that was just a coincidence, though wink.

Zef Mustafa is mentioned in the book Blood Oath by George Fresolone. Fresolone was made guy in the North Jersey crew of the Philadelphia family who flipped. In the book Fresolone wrote that even though he knew lots of killers ever since he was a kid, Mustafa was the only guy he ever felt uncomfortable around, he wrote that he just sensed Mustafa was a killer the first time he met him.

That's nonsense, Fleming. I don't doubt you, and I've never read the book, either. But there were Bronx guys a lot more physically intimidating than Zef. It was his reputation with a baseball bat that kept Frankie's shy book up to date wink.

PB, was Zef a heavy associate like Watts? Maybe I'm wrong but was it you that said them Rudaj guys were shook of Zef?

I don't know PB. I just thought it was interesting, I recognized Mustafa's name from the book. It is a really good book, it tells about how he recorded his making ceremony, and how there was a problem with the NY familes over one of the other guys who was made, and all the guys made almost got killed because of that. Mob guys don't often seem to admit to being afraid of anyone, so I thought it was a big deal that he admitted to being scared of this Zef guy.

No, in my opinion Watts was an associate in a class by himself.

But the Rudaj guys hit their peak after Frankie went away and Zef went away for his part in the phone card scam. But had their paths crossed earlier, I doubt they would have challenged him.

Don't take me wrong, Fleming. I grew up with Zef. His reputation was fearsome. But not in the same way as a guy who would beat you into a coma with his bare hands.

Let's just say that Zef wasn't shy with a baseball bat. Does that make him less fearsome? No. Does it make him a different kind of fearsome? Yes.

And at the end of the day, does it really matter? The guy had no qualms about putting a guy to sleep, so what's the difference?

Maybe I'm wrong I thought you said a few of the Bronx Rudaj guys who messed with Loscalzo were scared of Zef, maybe someone else said it
