Yeah it isn't rare for a Slayer gig to see people being carried away after suffering multiple injuries lol The same goes for Machine Head, Lamb of God, Soulfly, Devildriver, Hatebreed, Madball and -believe it or not- Godsmack when I saw them live. Absolute anarchy and destruction during all of those gigs: people had their earrings ripped out, hands crushed, limbs dislocated,... During a Lamb Of God gig a friend of mine broke both bones in his right forearm.
Korn, Slipknot, Iron Maiden, Motorhead and Stone Sour were all much much tamer when I saw them. Especially compared to the ones I named above.

Now I'm not a metalhead, especially not in my clothing style or my social circle. I love listening to all of those metalbands I just named, but you'll catch me listening a lot to other music genres as well. Especially when it's sunny I'll listen a lot to old school hip-hop such as Eazy-E, Westside Connection, Cypress Hill, Dr Dre's The Chronic 2001,...
Cypress Hill's III: Temples of Boom is genius.

I've never heard of him before but Layne Staley can actually sing. Can't say that for many vocalists these days. When you can sing like that, you don't need too much music behind the vocals.

Too bad Staley died. I still have Alice In Chain's album "Dirt" lying here somewhere. Proper record.

Layne was lead singer for Alice in Chains and Mad Season, definitely one of rock musics biggest talents to come out of the 1990's era, I like his music better than Kurt Cobain's (no knock on his talent). The video I posted not that long ago Nutshell from Unplugged, you can tell junk really deteriorated him, but his vocals are still stronger than ever.

Yeah it is too bad he couldn't overcome his demons, especially since he had the means to get help. Dirt is a great album recetnly put it back into my music rotation

Yeah, love some grunge from time to time. When it comes to the 90's grunge craze, everyone seems to cream for Nirvana's "Nevermind" and Pearl Jam's "Ten". Great albums, but when I think of that particular genre Alice In Chains' "Dirt" and Soundgarden's "Badmotorfinger" are equally great if not better in my book. Both AIC and Soundgarden seemed to veer as close to metal as they did to grunge though.

A particular song I listen an awful lot to nowadays is "Stone The Crow" by Down. Their debut album "NOLA" owns.

Down - Stone The Crow

Chris Cornell is another good one from the grunge scene, Badmotorfinger is a great album.

GREAT song Turnbull.
A year ago today Jerry Vale passed away can you believe it? Such a beautiful voice he had!!
I'm listening to Love Me the Way I Love You and Passione by him right now. Those songs just hit me so deep in my veins and give me chills all over. Both are very emotional songs and he nails them both!

Can't hear Jerry Vale without thinking of my dad. He loved Jerry Vale. I do too.

No offense but that song sure killed my passionate mood. I thought I was going to have a thrilling night! But instead I walked my dog and then gave him a bath.
