Btw, I heard just recently a pack of cigs is going up by $2.00. WTF??? Is that just here in CA? What does that make an average pack now, $8.00. OMG That's terrible.

You got to have it in your head Geoff or you're just wasting time. That's what I learned. That and not give yourself the excuse to smoke (like stress, bad day, etc)

As I said, I have no real desire to smoke at all -- but I'm still addicted to nicotine from the damn gum! lol


Spent 3 years working there -- and yes, smokers are like mail carriers: "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these [smokers] from the swift completion of their [cigarettes]"


TIS, I think I saw that packs were like $12 or $12.50 in Manhattan! About $9 here by me. Good thing we quit, right?!!

I stopped smoking cigarettes four weeks ago now and i have to say it's much easier than i ever imagined it would be too quit.

I went cold turkey and have just been using chewing gum to take my mind off it. The first two days where the worst as i had been smoking everyday for close to 20 years and then all off a sudden nothing and my brain and body went into survival mode without the nicotine.

But it's still early days as i know i could have a cigarette at any time so i'm taking everyday at a time..

After I quit, I did what you're doing now De Niro, chewed regular gum. I was a chain gum chewer lol. I just quit chewing gum about a year ago. Now, I switched to Altoid mints and tic-tacs. All my cravings for cigs are gone. Every now and then I go into this Cuban cigar shop just to smell the cigars lol. If someone lights up a cigar, I do like to stand close and take in a nice deep breath. So glad, I never took up the habit of smoking them. Not sure I'd be able to quit that one.

Funny how smokes cost so much now.
