Sorry I haven't been around much lately -- the usual Summer and other b.s.

...but it's now 9 weeks

Was trying tonight. Went out (which I don't really do much anymore unless it's something special), for fireworks. Everyone there smoked, of course. But I held on, and didn't -- though I thought about it!

I can't go back now... it'd be too embarrassing!

Though I grew up around my dad being a smoker, then and still now, I feel like I'm much more aware of it because I work around a big group of smokers. One has had to quit because of her pregnancy, and I've seen firsthand how tough it was for her just to avoid the temptation when it's such a part of her routine and the job environment. I don't know the feeling you guys go through trying to quit, but I sure do sympathize!

I haven't had a cigarette in six years, but I went out to a bar the other night and had a few drinks. On the way out to the car, my husband and I passed all the smokers. I still couldn't resist taking in a deep sniff, and it smelled SO good.

BTW, 8 months this coming Sunday! Still on Nicorette; now that's a habit.

Good for you Geoff. Keep it up you won't be sorry. You'll look back and wonder why you even started smoking. Not to mention you save a ton of money. Ha ha

And even 7 years later, for me, I know I've got it licked BUT I still find some weird appeal of the smell of smoke of a freshly lit cigaret. Never enough to make me want one tho. Weird I know. If that's the only after-effect, I can live with it.

I can smoke 5 or 6 times or 50-60 times a week. I can also go months without smoking.

I haven't had a smoke since 1976, or a drink since 1981, that's why im still alive at 72.
