It was not totally uncommon for Mafia members to travel back and forth between the US and Sicily. Paul Gambino´s first arrest was by the Yonkers police in 1929. So he was clearly in the US at that time. He was charged with suspicion on a fellony charge. (This case was dismissed due to lack of prosecution.) He was shot in 1930. I wouldn´t be surprised if that shooting may have been the reason why he took a trip to Sicily and returned to the US in 1935 when he felt secure. Carlo Gambino was said to have spent a lot of time in Massachusets in the early 1930s. Even though the bosses had come to an agreement following the Castellammarese war, it doesn´t mean that the foot soldiers felt totally secure in NY.

In the Valachi Papers Joe Cargo said that one time during the Castellammarese War him and Steve Runnelli were driving around hunting for Masseria guys to kill and Runnelli took a shot at Paolo. Just grazed his ear though. Valachi said soon afterwards Carlo Gambino switched sides and teamed up with the Maranzano guys.

Exactly gotti talked bad about everyone which was one of is many problems. Lets face it without Neil gotti wouldnt of even gotten made most likely

Hmm, I doubt that's true. Lets not forget Gotti connected and rubbed off on a lot of the real street guys. They felt he was a tough guy like them. A real wiseguy. If there wasn't Neil Dellacroce, there still would have been a Carmine Fatico, who was also attracted to Gotti as a protege and pretty much liked him a lot for almost the same reasons Neil did. And who know's maybe he would've been a Bonanno. According to Sewlyn Raab, Carmine Galante once said while in prison that it was a shame Neil Dellacroce had the rights to Gotti, because he would've loved to had had him in his crew.
