Wow, for a 20th Anniversary Raw, I must say that I was rather disappointed. No legends returning other than Ric Flair. No Stone Cold Steve Austin, HBK, Bret Hart, etc.

Ever met any wrestlers? I met Capt Lou Albano out an orange julious many years ago. He was definely a nut job liked him.

George the animal steel at a local show in Brooklyn. He had a very hot wife. I can imagine him eating her like the way he used to eat the turn buckles.

Then there was a guy I saw at the beacon theather. The wwf owned the garden another group was trying to break into NY. I never even heard of this guy before. He was great even though he looked pretty old late 50's or early 60's. His name was Lou Theiz he was freaking great.

Big shocking news.

Bruno Sammartino has accepted WWE's invition to join their Hall of Fame after decades of feuding with Vince McMahon over money and philosophical disagreements on wrestling. (Incidentally this year's Wrestlemania will take place in Metlife stadium, the HOF ceremony will happen in NYC so this is fortunate timing for Vince.)

Sammartino of course was the biggest draw in the old WWWF days (before he extra "W" was knocked off) for promoter Vince McMahon Sr. when that promotion was situated mainly in New England. Insanely popular across the globe, especially with Italian-Americans in the NY/NJ region, he even got a private audience with the Pope during his prime. He was WWWF/WWF Champion from 1963-71, 1974-77 for a combined championship run of 11 years.

(Other WWE HOF '13 inductees will include Mick Foley, Bob Backlund, and Trish Stratus.)

I haven't watched Raw/Smackdown in awhile. Do we know who the Undertaker is wrestling for WM?

It's still up in the area at the moment. The plan for now is for him to fight CM Punk but if he doesn't fight, there's rumors he'll fight next year at WrestleMania 30 and Punk may be added to The Rock vs Cena match this year. Taker apparently underwent shoulder and hip surgery so he's pretty banged up (the guy's around 49). I wish he'd just RETIRE already!

And HHH is suppose to fight Lesnar at WrestleMania 29 for those interested.

Time to resurrect this old thread. Did anyone watch Summer Rae's match against Natalia on Raw? Why does WWE put these types of matches on TV? I know Summer Rae came through NXT (so she does have training) and she needs the practice but I honestly felt bad for her. I'm sure she was incredibly nervous so I don't know if it was just nerves but she telegraphed everything. She poorly executed her spots and it just seemed too rehearsed?

Speaking of Natalia, why is she always called in to job to other Divas? I feel bad for her too because she actually has some talent. I'm not the biggest Natalia fan in the world but at least she can put together a proper match. Even on the Divas show on E!, Natalia seems to be there to put the other Divas over. What's Vince's deal with her? Why is she getting buried so much?

---------------------------------------------------------------
In an unrelated note, TNA is currently up for sale. Apparently the Carter family wants out of the wrestling business and at this point, is only willing to sell to 1 of 3 potential buyers: Jeff Jarrett, Eric Bischoff or Vince McMahon

The current Daniel Bryan vs Randy Orton storyline isn't bad but the Internet is saying how storylines will lead up to WrestleMania. That's still 6 months away! They usually don't start building up to WrestleMania until right after the Royal Rumble.

I quit watching when Lesnar went to UFC and got a big dick tatted on his chest (call it a sword if you'd like)

Wow, I didn't see this coming but rumors are going around that Smashing Pumpkins front man Billy Corgan wants to buy TNA. Geez, didn't see that coming although I know Corgan is a big fan of wrestling.

Anybody going to order the WWE Network tomorrow? I am! I've been looking forward to this ever since I heard the rumors a few years ago.

Plus, Hulk Hogan's on his way back to WWE. He's "hosting" WrestleMania 30. I think that's a stupid and ridiculous role for him but I'll be happy to see him on WWE TV again. Perhaps he could move to the GM role soon instead (since his wrestling days are behind him).

I ordered the WWE Network, and I love it! WrestleMania alone was worth the price of admission, but all of the other content available makes it, without question, the greatest bargain in entertainment.

Absolutely! I agree. WrestleMania was awesome as was the Hall of Fame ceremony (but I do feel it ran a little long). I'm a little upset because I'm waiting for them to roll the app out for smart TV's so I can watch it on that. I don't own a Xbox, PS, Roku or anything else. I currently just watch it on my computer but waiting to watch it on my TV (rumor is they'll roll it out for select smart TV's this summer). I haven't really watched any of the original content. Just old PPV's. Waiting for them to put up old Monday Night Raw's and Nitro's. Also this summer they're suppose to release a series: The Monday Night Wars which I'm also looking forward to! At $9.99 a month, you really can't ask for more.

Irishman, you don't have a HDMI port on your computer? If so you could do it that way. I watch UFC's through my HDMI to my tv's HDMI all the time.

Google Chromecast, Dix. It's like HDMI without the wires. Best $30 I ever spent on a computer/tv accessory.

And I bought one of those Chromebooks a few months ago, so it runs like a dream.

I literally never have to get off my couch now lol.

I've already decided to renew once my six month subscription is up. It is terrific.

I do but from where my computer and TV are, I don't want the hassle of the wires. They said summer they'll roll the app out for TV's so I'm hoping sometime soon within the next few months!

I probably will too. I think I actually like the website rather than having an actual channel on the TV. I LOVE being able to watch it on the go to with a tablet, phone or laptop.

I remember Albano fuel well, Paul. But those were Lou's cousins. Lou's parents were both highly educated. His Dad was a doctor.

I remember going to see Lou wrestle at the Westchester County Center back in the late '60s and early '70s like it was yesterday. He was always a lot of fun of watch. Then when he became a manager, he really found his calling!

I was disappointed with last night's PPV. Totally predictable. The only match I got wrong was Evolution vs. The Shield (I thought Evolution would win and it would begin Roman Reigns face turn).

I have not watched Wrestling in years. I did see a wrestler Waldo Von Erick remember him stabbed by a fan at the old Garden. People thought it was real back them me too.

Anyone remember the signature holds of the old time wrestlers.

Bruno Samartino, Antonio Rocca, calypso kid, Capt Lou, haystack Calhoun, bobo brazil, iron shiek, chief Jay strongbow, the kangaroo brothers.

Then their we're holds like the claw hold can't remember the wrestler that used it. figure 4 Leg vine, bear hug, chin lock etc

I had the privilege of attending SummerSlam last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. What an experience!

I will try to answer those questions. Bruno signature hold was the back breaker.

Antonio Rocca was a lot of flying drop kicks one after another.

Calypso kid he was the first guy to balance himself off the top rope and throw his body at an opponent.

Captain lou was always my favorite. His hold was sticking his fingers in his opponents eyes.

Haystacks was hittin the opponent with that big horse shoe that he carried a round his neck then give the opponent the big splash. Just falling on the opponent with his apx 400 or 600 hundred pounds I forget which probably 600 lbs.

You guys have to remember the rest

SO glad Brock beat Cena for the title last night. I flipped on the WWE Network but that was the only match I watched closely. The rest of the time I listened to it and would click back every once and a while. Sounds like the Stephanie/Brie match turned out pretty well. Not at all surprised about Nikki's turn.

So was I, but I gotta give mad props to John Cena. He took the beating of a lifetime to put over Lesnar as the unstoppable force he should have been booked as since his return in 2012. Cena is the top guy in WWE, he didn't have to do a squash to Lesnar, but he respects Undertaker so much and respects the enormity of Lesnar's ending of the streak. I respect the hell out of Cena for that.

Overall, the show was great. Probably WWE's best PPV this year.
