Off the top of my head, just a few: "They stab it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill the beast." Eagles - Hotel California "Oh my love my darlin'. I've hungered for your touch." Unchained Melody - Righteous Brothers (One of the most beautiful songs made IMHO) "You Can't Always Get What You Want" Rolling Stones TIS
"Mankind must put an end to war before war puts an end to mankind. War will exist until that distant day when the conscientious objector enjoys the same reputation and prestige that the warrior does today." JFK
"War is over, if you want it" - John Lennon

I've always liked the following line from Paul McCartney's 'My Love': "Only my love holds the other key...to me." Incidentally, since it was mentioned: Originally posted by The Italian Stallionette: ..."They stab it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill the beast." Eagles - Hotel California... I like the line and have always loved the song but WHAT exactly does that mean...the meat is too rare??? The hotel is whacky? Too many drugs??? Inquiring (and sheltered) minds want to know!! Apple
A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government.
- THOMAS JEFFERSON

"When you wish upon a star that turns into a plane"
"Is a dream alive if it don't come true or is it something worse"

Apple [/b][/quote]According to the attached link (which is really interesting), that line was a reference to "Steely Dan" who was under the same management as the Eagles. Glen Frye said the song is somewhat like an episode of The Twilight Zone, which kind of is the way I interpreted it. I thought it'd make a good horror flick. No matter what the Eagles intended, I think it's one of those songs that is fun to intepret. Anyway, check out the link, if interested. Hotel California TIS

The Beatles "I read the news today, oh boy. About a lucky man who made the grade. He blew his mind out in a car."
The Beatles "When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me. Speaking words of Wisdom, Let It Be."
Bob Dylan "Come Senators, Congressmen, please heed the call, for the times, they are a changin'"
Bob Dylan "Though I know that evenin's empire has returned into sand, Vanished from my hand, Left me blindly here to stand but still not sleeping. My weariness amazes me, I'm branded on my feet, I have no one to meet And the ancient empty street's too dead for dreaming.
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me, I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to. Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me, In the jingle jangle morning I'll come followin' you."
John Lennon~ "Well we all shine on....Like the Moon and the Stars and the Sun."

And you liar, teller of tall tales: you trample all the Lord's commandments underfoot, you murder, steal, commit adultery, and afterward break into tears, beat your breast, take down your guitar and turn sin into a song. Shrewd devil, you know very well that God pardons singers no matter what they do, because he can simply die for a song.

2Pac - Changes It's war on the streets and the war in the Middle East. Instead of war on poverty, they got a war on drugs so the police can bother me. 2Pac - Me Against the World In a position of making a difference? Politicians and hypocrites--they don't wanna listen. 2Pac - Unconditional Love In this game, the lesson's in your eyes to see. Though things change, the future's still inside of me. We must remember that tomorrow comes after the dark, so you will always be in my heart, with unconditional love. 2Pac - Who Do You Believe In? Can't close my eyes because all I see is terror. I hate the man in the mirror because his reflection makes the pain turn realer. 2Pac - Until the End of Time When my mama ask me, "Will I change?" I tell her, "Yeah," but it's clear I'll always be tha same. Until the end of time. 2Pac - Lord Knows I smoke a blunt to take the pain out, and if I wasn't high, I'd probably try to blow my brains out. Jadakiss - Why? Why did Bush knock down the towers? Eminem - Who Knew? I'm sorry, there must be a mix-up. You want me to fix up lyrics while the President gets his dick sucked? Eminem - My Dad's Gone Crazy And thats pretty much the gist of it. Parents are pissed, but the kids love it. Nine millimeter, heater stashed, in two-seaters with meat cleavers. I don't blame you. I wouldn't let Hailie listen to me neither. Eminem - Square Dance Yeah, the man's back with a plan to ambush this Bush administration, mush the Senate's face in, and push this generation of kids to stand and fight for the right to say something you might not like. Nas - One Mic Jesus died at age 33. There's 33 shots from twin glocks. There's sixteen a piece, that's thirty-two, which means, one of my guns was holding 17. Twenty-seven hit your crew, six went into you.
"After every dark night, there's a bright day right after that. No matter how hard it gets, stick your chest out, keep your head up, and handle it." -Tupac Shakur

"Monday, I could wait till Tuesday, if I make up my mind, Wednesday would be fine, Thursday's on my mind, Friday'd give me time, Saturday could wait, but Sunday'd be too late. Seven days will quickly go; the fact remains, I love her so. Seven days, so many ways but I can't run away. Do I have to tell a story of a thousand rainy days since we first met? It's a big enough umbrella, but it's always me that ends up getting wet." - Sting, Seven Days
