Real life has interrupted Douche's postings here. He is happily married and he and his wife have an absolutely beautiful baby.

I had the good fortune to have met Douche in person (in 2004) and he is a tremendously likable guy. I miss his musings here. I hope to be able to meet you, Yogi, someday.

Ha ha ha ha!!! That little girl is adorable.

Yea, we Italians learn those hand gestures at an early age. I swear with some of my relatives, if you were to hold their hands down, they wouldn't know how to have a conversation. My mom was one to use her hands a lot while talking.

My father in law (Savino) was a good Italian hand gesturer...while smoking a DiNobili (yech).

Don't know if I can explain this in print but anyone know the Italian gesture mostly done in anger, or disgust, when you put your hand to your mouth and emulate biting it? I remember my mom doing that one as well. Quite animated. Ha ha

This has explicit meanings/translations but I got a kick out of the lady's comedic/deadpan facial expressions.

Many different cultures have similar methods of showing disdain. But some are different enough that I guess you could by accident get into a fight or start a riot.

I know many(not all) of those hand gestures. I remember some old time Italians using some and my family as well. It's amazing what one little hand gesture can mean hu? Then again, in an Italian family (OR maybe most families) there's "the look". You know, the look that you get (mainly from parents)that you are in deep trouble.

Anyone who may remember angiez23 from like 8+ years ago, from Chile, she's safe from the recent two huge (8's) earthquakes right in her town. She's been evacuated -- sleepless, but safe.

I guess there really is an issue here -- I can't edit the Dead Pool list, perhaps because it's too big, like some claim.

This is a hilarious video clip of a professor in Grand Rapids, MI, Aquinas College, a Catholic college (which btw happens to be college that my brother graduated from)

This professor has a strict rule that any cell phone that rings in class, person must answer and put it on speaker. The students played a great April Fools joke on him. Check it out. You'll have to read as they speak cause it's not real clear. Teacher was a really great sport.

Have to attend a funeral tomorrow. One of my best friends from back in the day, his father passed away so it is time to dust the black suit off again. He was a gregarious popular character so it will be well attended no doubt. I am invited to the family do afterwards but it can only be for a couple of drinks as I am on nights this week!!

Yogi, sorry about your friends father's passing. It's so nice that you attend and believe me it means a lot to your friend.

When my father passed away, in 2010, I was reading the on-line condolences. Lo & behold I find a childhood friend of mine from Elm St., (Georgie Ranazzi)had commented. He was out of state now but somehow saw/heard about my dad's passing and wrote very nice words about my dad and my family. I was so touched I e-mailed him to thank him.

For my mom's funeral (2012) another neighbor and her sister, also kids I played with on Elm St., came to the funeral home. My God, I hadn't seen them since the early 60s. Again, I was so touched that they took the time to see us.

Tho you can't always do anything to ease the pain, just being there can mean a lot to the family in mourning.

Very sorry about your loss Yogi. I just got back from FL this morning. My Aunt passed away Wednesday and the funeral was on Monday.

Was Jesus married? Maybe so, maybe so!
