Does anyone plan on watching Hostages on CBS tonight? It's same time slot/replacing (for now) "Under the Dome." It looks pretty good. I hear it's a 15 episode mini-series (seems to be the new thing).

I liked him way back when he was in "The Practice." Then I saw ONLY 1st episode of "American Horror Story" and loved it. However, after attempting, without luck, to find in-sequence episodes via FX, tv website downloads, HBO on-demand, AND waiting for repeats on FX, I gave up. It was so frustrating that I'm no longer interested. mad

Btw, the other channel has a new show with James Spader (the title escapes me) but that too looks like it might be good.

I don't have Netflix but I'm thinking it'll be more & more popular. Isn't that the only way to watch "House of Cards?" That show it seems is a big hit. Looks good to. Do you pay as you go or do you have to join Netflix at a monthly rate? confused

Yes, I know what you mean about so many shows. I have quite a few I watch regularly. The seasons are so different, that I wrote a list of WHEN some of my favorites come back. LOL

I think they are edging out regular tv? Still a few regular shows on network channels, but notice how many freekin' reality or in general, what I call, bullshit shows are on basic tv? I only watch a few network shows.

o ya i cant stand reality tv. yes netflix is a monthly rate, last time a checked it was like 8$ dollars a month for streaming and like 14$ a month for streaming plus dvds.
i also have hulu plus which is 6$ a month and with that you get episodes of shows the day after they air(the ones that they provide). they are both pretty good services.

no, i myself have a smart tv where the internet is right on the tv and i can have netflix and hulu as apps, but they are a lot more devices that you can watch it off of. like if you have a PS3 or Xbox360 you can watch it off of that. but that also sell devices that are specifically the streaming apps like netflix and hulu that hook up right to your tv,kinda like a cable box, and theyre not really that expensive. and what you said about edging out regular tv is true, i read an article recently that was talking about how streaming was becoming more popular and how its gonaa be the future of television but to get everything you want youll have to get it from a couple of different providers.

Camarel, well aren't you nice. Thanks. I'll save the link for now but have just two questions.

1. Is it free or do I need the "Pro" account or what??
2. I always hesitate to download from unknown sites for fear of a computer virus/spyware, etc. Are you confident in this site?

Again, thank you.

1.No you don't need the pro account just click continue as free user and then click play and it will work fine.

2.It's not a download, it's just a streaming video. Yes i'm confident in it. I used it to watch Mad Men when i was unable to get it on UK tv. I'm sure alot of other people have used it on this site.

Has anyone heard of or watched the comedy The Middle starring Patricia Heaton and Kris Kattan? It's in its 4th season on ABC. I never heard of it until today.

Ya the only reason ive seen it is because my mother watches it. It has its moments but not a great show. It is however a show you can watch with your family without being embaressed.

Oli,

I've watched "The Middle" a few times. It's not bad and actually funnier than you might think. I just tend to lean to more dramas. There aren't too many comedies I watch.

I am watching the new season of "Person Of Interest" however, which starts tonight. Criminal Minds starts tomorrow and Walking Dead (my personal favorite) on Oct. 13.

Another show I just started watching last year was "Arrow." I ended up following the entire season and I actually like the show.

I missed (fell asleep) whistle Hostages yesterday and I plan to watch that on HBO On Demand tonight and maybe Blacklist (with James Spader) which was on the other channel of Hostages. Either nothing's on or all good shows on at once. LOL

I missed Blacklist last night, and it's not On Demand. Hostages was good, but don't know if I would watch it regularly.

Great to see James Spader isn't hiding the fact he's balding, unlike De Niro, Pacino, Travolta and all those other vain asses.

Speaking of which, I watched Killing Season a few weeks ago, with De Niro and Travolta.

Embarrassingly, barrel-scrapingly terrible.

I'm a fan of that show. I've been watching it when I can for the past two years. The kids are growing up and it's not quite as funny as it used to be, but it is now in syndication with another favorite of mine, Modern Family, which is still top notch. These are pretty much the only network (Non-news or non-sports) shows I watch although I miss some weeks.

A lot of the new shows have been promoted for months, and last night, by chance, I flipped to The Goldbergs, and watched most of it. I thought it was terrible. There's nothing funny about a lecherous old grandfather taking his young grandson into a diner and tell him how to touch women's breasts. The show takes place in the 80s, so I think they're hoping to appeal to the nostalgic, who might be willing to overlook juvenile writing.

And speaking of the 80s, I see Michael J. Fox is making a sitcom comeback with his own show on NBC either tonight or tomorrow. If I'm in front of the tv then, I'll give it a watch.

We are also fans of the Middle, and Modern Family which is the best. There was also a funny show called Raising Hope which we enjoyed.

You might want to check again. I looked last night and couldn't find it because I was looking under B. It was actually under T for The Blacklist.

I finally watched part of an episode of The Middle. It was amusing. However, Patricia Heaton has changed. It's been 10 years since EBLR's final episode, so I guess that shouldn't be surprising. Nevertheless, I was surprised.

SB,

I see you're right Blacklist IS on "On Demand." I do plan to watch it today or tomorrow. Thanks. smile

I guess I'll watch Big Bang Theory tonight.

Btw, I am a huge Law & Order fan. Never realized how much until this past summer. Time when I was home and nothing but reality shows, reruns, same repeated movies, etc. Thank God for L & O. lol I've seen many from early 90s and not just the regular L&O, they have SVU, CI as well.

Speaking of L&O, anyone watch the premier of this season's SVU? (Good thing I did watch re-runs, I had just seen the season finale last week). Olivia held hostage by a psycho? Good episode. One of the best of the SVU series.

I am so mad that I missed the season premiere! I meant to DVR it, too, because I also just saw last season's finale. Do you know if L&O:SVU is on demand? I hope so. Need to catch that.

Yes it is but I haven't checked if last night's episode is on yet, but it should be. It was a two parter, but the first part dealt with Olivia's capture and the second was another story with references made to Olivia's ordeal.
smile

Btw, I missed Criminal Minds which is on at the same time. I'll try to catch that later too. Geez, it's nice having NEW stuff on tv again.
