Was in the neighborhood last week and checked out N Georgia Ave apartment (have pictures but not sure how I can paste them into a thread - if someone can let me know). Anyway, the address looks very similar to the old pictures - probably hasn't changed much at all. The area is still Italian but those of you who are not familiar with AC - the town is pretty much run down - this street is no exception. Largely hispanic now also and lesser extent African American.....Give Nicky credit for staying in the area as I am sure he could have upgraded to a nearby town. I read Leonettis book and can now see what he meant when he mentioned sneaking out the back yard and nearby houses, there are a lot of homes and close together streets. The street is about a par 4 away from the closest casino but kind of away from the center of the boardwalk. Back to the apartment - it looked the building was a four unit building - again doesn't look like much work has been done to the complex recently at all. There was even a unit for sale it appeared.
If Atlantic City doesn't get their act together and do some things differently, the place will be a ghost town and will turn even worse. Casinos in big trouble - Revel is on a lifeline. Nearby gaming and casinos are really having a negative impact. They need a big summer.

@joselevens you are right about AC it is really sad, I mean Caesars and Taj are really nice but, you have to get off the Boardwalk and go to the Borgata for a real nice time and you are right they need a huge Summer especially Revel, if that fails then there will be some problems in AC..........its not a bad time over there at all, they just need to market it better to people in the Eastern half and Midwestern part of the nation as opposed to just the Northeastern corridor

IDK, after being in Vegas about 20 times in the last 5 years I had a chance to meet a buddy in AC last summer and I was never so disappointed, the place is a crime ridden dump if you ask me...

The 'silk hat' has just about fallen off of the pigs head. Does that one casino still go over top of that one house that refused to sell? That was the funniest shit I ever seen. They built the casino right over top of the house. Must of been Trump that did that one.

No sure when Mousie and Dame get sentenced but soon - think Nicodemo has a court date soon too.
Unfortunately unless you are inside one of the casinos (not all) you are most likely in a shitty part of town.
Not to get too political but they need a Giuliani in there or Chrisie to clean that town once and for all - all they have had are Dinkins and Nutters and it's gone to hell.
I grew up in the 80s and the placed was packed - now it's a couple years away from extinction.

I agree with that, the strip mall area is a good clean area, but you are right it needs to be cleaned up fast

If you're a real gambler, Revel isn't for you. The place sucks.

About the town being shitty outside of the casinos...why would anyone go outside the casinos? I'm down there at least twice a month for the past 20 years, and I don't think I've ever been outside the casino on the street or the boardwalk even.

my friend used to live down there, some really crappy areas. compared to vegas, all of the casino's down there are certainly lacking, the borgata is the only one on the level of the vegas csaino's. whitehouse cheesesteaks is amazing, its well worth the long wait!

Article on philly .com today about Revel getting out of bankruptcy. Probably some creative refinancing.

"Revel exits bankruptcy, hopes for a strong summer"

http://articles.philly.com/2013-05-14/bu...effrey-hartmann

Personally we don't really like Revel much. Like Five Felonies we almost always hit the Borgata when we're in town.

AC is a dump and i doubt the numbers get much better for the casino's there. Just too much competition from local states and everyone seems to be chasing the same dollar. Only sports betting will dramatically add to the profit line and i have no idea whats going on with that.

Maybe a high end red light district would help. wink

Some high end bordello's and some killer weed shops. That should class the area up. lol clap

They get the sports betting that will help but they need to get a conservative mayor in there to clean the town up and also get the casinos to start catering to people in the south with cheap flights not that ripoff spirit air and great deals....summer will tell though....borgata is fun i have heard harrahs is also fun and my friends said the tropicana is cheap and can be a blast

I lived in Ventnor while attending Stockton College. The southern end of AC after the tropicana isn't such a bad area.

In that part of town there was 15 or more bar and restaurants maybe more but at least 5 or 6 were liked and used by the Scarfo fam.Angelonis wow we loved it there and some of the fam worked there, and drank and ate. The owner is Allen and what a great guy he is..we would leave the office and say we were going to attitude adjustment hour to get away from nick that would to into 5 hour adjustment..

After Scarfo's mother died who got the property in Ducktown? Nicky Sr? His sister (Phil's mom)? Nicky Jr? Any idea who owns it now?

I know originally Scarfo's father owned the property then i would guess it went to the mother after her husband died back in the 1970's, but then who got it after Scarfo's mother passed away? Wasn't Scarfo's sister in the WPP with her son Phil under a new name? Just curious about the chain of ownership and who owns it now.
