Was he happy with his game?

He's never completely satisfied, but he was happy with his pitch selection, working the count and location. His velocity was good.

He was happiest with his RBI single because it came with 2 out on an 0-2 curveball. He waited on it and didn't try to pull it to left, but rather lined it to right field.

Lebron James and the Heat continue their record approaching winning streak after an amazing victory in Cleveland. The Cavaliers had a 27 point lead with 7 minutes in the third period before the Heat came roaring back.

This past weekend was the NCAA Wrestling Championship on ESPN. Penn State won its third straight title. Of particular note: Kyle Dake from Cornell was the first wrestler to win four titles at four different weight classes. Only two other wrestlers have won four titles, Cael Sanderson (now the coach of Penn State) and Pat Smith, but repeated some there titles at the same weight class.

One of my son's best friends lost in the state wrestling finals for his weight class for the second year in a row. He had previously beaten his opponent several times, so the overtime loss was difficult to take.

However, the kid ends his high school career as the winningest scholastic wrestler in the history of Pennsylvania, which is a big wrestling state. He will wrestle next year at Rutgers.

Rutgers might be building a power house. A kid from NJ won the states this year for the 4th time, and his wrestling record was 160-0. He's going to Rutgers.

I found this quote on the YardBarker website:

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo released a statement after signing his new six-year extension that will pay him up to $108 million. “This is an organization that always gives us a chance to win, and that is always the main focus here,” Romo said in a statement, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “We haven’t had the type of success that we have all wanted the last few years, but I do know that we are on the verge of doing that. I have been around good teams and bad teams and our team is about to take that next step with a lot of things that are taking shape around Valley Ranch. Today just further instills that and I am excited about our team and the direction we are headed."

Then he ripped of his mask to reveal Rex Ryan.

Who's watching this guy? Romo is awful! Not a leader in the least bit! Look at all the all time great quarterbacks and they all have one thing in common. Great leaders, the best if not the best of all time Joe Montana! Not the best tools but everyone believed in him and he lead his team. Yes Jerry Rice helped but Romo has plenty of weapons!

Romo's won only what ONE playoff game? Or two, I can't remember.

Point is some Quarterbacks in the league are worth that much money. Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, etc. They're worth every single penny. Tony Romo is not one of them.

So Rutgers just fired their men's basketball coach Mike Rice today. Why?

Wow. So many things there that alone would warrant automatic termination, no excuses. (The one that stands out the most for me is him throwing a basketball at a kid's head at short range.) But Rutgers initially only suspended him 3 games for this. Amazing only a slap on the wrist for something that could get your ass thrown in jail.

Then ESPN played that tape, people were unsurprisingly outraged, and now Rutgers does what they should've done in the first place.

My 2 boys are having good seasons in their Sunday league football teams. Both are second in their respective tables and are going for the top spot and the promotion that will bring. However Mike's team only got a 1-1 draw today, they had a few players missing what with it being the school Easter holidays still. Drew however had a great game and his team won 12-3. Still a few games to go..and they both have Cup competitions going as well cool

And to prove it's truly not the "Italian American thing," I have to tell you that I hate John Calipari with the white-hot passion of a thousand suns. Twenty years ago I was screaming for John Chaney to choke him to death, and that's no lie. Only psychopaths and sore losers cry about the referees during postgame press conferences the way he routinely does. If he didn't have one of the best starting fives in the history of Division One basketball last year, he wouldn't have won a thing. I need Pitino to win this year so he can pull ahead of his pretender protege once and for all in the eyes of his critics.

But I want to help your guys out as much as possible. I say we allow the Wolverines to suit up Chris Webber in case they need an extra timeout whistle.

Ah, you know I love ya, Lilo lol.

In all honesty, I felt really bad for Webber at the time. And I couldn't stand that North Carolina team.

I posted this on FB last night so i know one or two of you will have seen this but i had to re-post it here as well cos i am so proud of the boy. My middle son Andrew's football team went top of their league last night with an 18-0 win over hapless opposition. They have scored just short of 100 goals this season and conceded less than ten. In nearly ten years of watching junior footy, including his brother Mike, i have never seen a team click like this one this year. They are absolutely storming it.

After the game Andrew said he felt sorry for the other team, and i told him would he rather win or lose by such a terrible margin and he just laughed. A very wise sage from these very Boards commented that it is good he shows compassion and even better that he shows it after they have won tongue

Very proud papa as always, win or lose, better when they are winning though cool

My son's high school baseball team is having an unexpected losing season this year, but there's time to turn it around. We faced a few pitchers, who'll be pitching in Division I college next year, but the hitting and pitching has been less than what we all expected.

My son is currently hitting .350 and leads the team in rbis and he has played third and pitched well. However, we played a rival yesterday and as they battered a couple of our pitchers, my son came in with the bases loaded and two outs in the top of the last inning. He got the first guy out on strikes, next guyached by error, and then the next batter hit a grand slam. My son knows this team well, having played with and against several of them in travel ball.

He got the next guy out, but he was pissed off. He told me last night that now he understands why pitchers would hit the following batter after a big homerun.

I recently learned that the manager of the Colorado Rockies is Walt Weiss, former major league shortstop, rookie of the year with the Oakland A's and World Series victor. Walt played for our hometown high school in Suffern, NY. Go Walt!

If you get the chance, check out the ESPN documentary about the memorable 1983 when six quarterbacks were taken in the first round. That draft will be remembered for John and Jack Elway refusing to play for the Baltimore Colts, who drafted him with the first overall pick.

What I didn't realize at the time as Baltimore was considering trading the pick, and later the rights to Elaway, was that the Raiders and Cowboys came very close to getting Elway, that Tom Landry really disliked Danny White, and Bill Walsh and the 49ers were willing to trade Joe Montana in a heartbeat for the rights to Elway.

The other big story of the draft was that Dan Marino fell to the second last pick of the first round after five qbs had aready been selected, including Division II qb Ken O'Brien, whose name was first heard to Marino at the time the Jets selected him (O'Brien ended up being a solid qb).

What wasn't mentioned was the fact that drug rumors from numerous sources surrounded Marino and scared teams away. Also, Marino had one of the lowest Wonderlic test scores for a qb at the time and he had a reputation for being dumber than a brick.

I remember that draft as Pittsburgh selected a defensive end, Gabe Rivera, who wrestled alligators and was as fast as lightning. His promising career was ended when six games into his rookie season, he was severely injured when he crashed his car after a night of drinking, leaving him paralyzed from the chest down.

I remember it Kly. To think that the Steelers could have selected Marino and been the team of the 80s also. Madonne! But the Steelers had taken Pittsburgh natives before without much success. I was excited about Rivera; he would have definitely been HOF.

Things Kareem Abdul-Jabbar wishes he knew decades ago

When I was thirty, I was living my dream. I’d already accomplished most of what I’d set out to achieve professionally: leading scorer in the NBA, leading rebounder, leading blocker, Most Valuable Player, All-Star. But success can be as blinding as Bill Walton’s finger in the eye when battling for a rebound. I made mistakes. Plenty of them. In fact, sometimes I wish I could climb into a time machine and go back to shake some sense into that thirty-year-old me. If I could, here’s the advice I would give him:....

"When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives."
Winter is Coming

Now this is the Law of the Jungle—as old and as true as the sky; And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die.
As the creeper that girdles the tree-trunk, the Law runneth forward and back; For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.
