Interesting list Oli. However The Graduate was released in 1967.

Only ones I did NOT see are: Star Wars, Return of the Jedi & Avatar.

Ha ha! Yes seriously. It has NEVER interested me. The only reason why I saw "Empire Strikes Back" is, at the time we went out with some good friends of ours who LOVED Star Wars and wanted to go see the sequel, so we went. Neither my husband or I were that impressed. Of course that was years ago. ohwell It must run in the family too. My SIL can't believe my daughter never saw it. Go figure.

Empire Strikes Back was the weakest of the original trilogy, IMO, although it did have that great GASP moment when we learned that Darth Vader was Luke's father.

I thought Gone With The Wind would have made the list.

Oh I disagree. Just as good as Episode IV. (Now JEDI is the weakest of the Original Trilogy in my book.)

Did anybody go see the re-released JURASSIC PARK this weekend?

Two things I noticed in rewatching that summer blockbuster classic.

(1) The movie back in the day was heralded was a technological watershed for CGI, but honestly there wasn't THAT much CGI in the movie if you count up the minutes it's used. Instead Spielberg and his crew seamlessly combined it with animatronics and puppetry. Some of the CGI now do scream 1993 (like the stampede) but otherwise the FX have aged incredibly well, with the puppets and animatronics aging the best.

Of course JURASSIC PARK was produced at a time when there was still quote on quote "magic" in Movie FX, when audiences truely wondered how this scene and those sequences were pulled off. Contrast that with today's movies with everything overstuff with CGI, there is no Magic. You know its produced behind a laptop by a schlub who probably resembles Wayne Knight.

(2) How clear and coherent the action filmmaking is. Yes kids, there was a time in Hollywood when people spent fortunes and time/effort to put up elaborate action/thrilling sequences, then put cameras not on Earthquake faults so they could clealry capture what the hell is going on. The editing isn't done by a monkey with ADHD either.

That's one thing I miss more than anything else at the movies. Why does Hollywood insist upon "shakey cam"-shot action sequences where nothing makes sense?

Been watching The Untouchables (the TV series). So far Lee Marvin and Robert Duvall have turned up.

That guy is going places. Who knows if he's lucky enough, he could even get the chance to play Captain America's boss.

Wow, all those homes look beautiful. Nice shot of GF house too.

Way way back when I went on a tour at Universal Studios, we went by many tv homes. Nice regular looking streets, etc. I was so surprised to see/hear the "Leave It To Beaver" house (and others) there was only the front frame of the house they used for outside shots, and the rest would be in a studio. frown It looked like such a real neighborhood too. lol

lol I remember hearing a radio interview with her back in 1997 or so and she was promoting a book called Don't pee on my leg and tell it's raining or something like that. Very funny.

True. But consider that she is afflicted with Fox News syndrome: fair and balanced.

I didn't know that but I'm not at all surprised. Her views are sometimes obvious when she addresses the participants.

Does anyone here watch "Southland"? I only started watching last year and am kicking myself for not watching other seasons. Really great show - acting, writing, it's got it all. And I hear that this is the last season.

You would think living in "The Southland" (SoCal), I'd have seen it but I haven't. Don't really know exactly why. It's good? Last season hu? I guess I'm a tad late. lol

Great acting, especially by Michael Cudlitz, who plays Officer John Cooper. The storylines are very good, too, and the show is often very funny as well.

I am just sorry I didn't see earlier seasons, and it's not available on streaming Netflix. I have requested it from the library, though.

Do any of you get or watch the COZI network. It seems to be a recent addition to cable? It shows alot of programs from the 50s and 60s such as Burns and Allen, Banacek, and tThe Bold Ones. I was just watching one of their movies - D.C. Cab.

Oli,

I just discovered Cozi a couple weeks ago.

Watching TCM, Tarzan The Ape Man with Johnny Weissmuller. The movie was made in 1932. uhwhat Holy Crap....that's way older than me even. lol Anyway, I always loved Johnny Weissmuller.

That's where I discovered the Untouchables.

Now, here's a kicker. My cable provider lables that channel as Weather and none of its programming is listed in the guide. What about you?

I have Time Warner and it is listed as COZI (channel 225). It was out of a number sequence that I am use to checking when I scan favorite channels and I just happened to notice it a couple weeks ago. I'm not watching now but D.C. Cab is playing and then The Best of Times.

Anybody has ever watched "Rectify?" I want to check it out now, but I'm not sure why it has such a low rating on IMDb.

I have to say that in the history of Family Feud Steve Harvey is the best host of the show. Sorry Richard Dawson.
