i think the reason scarfo stayed on georgia ave. after becoming boss was because everyone knew him and feared him their. Sure he did have his house in Florida but that was more of a getaway, like Leonetti said in his book his uncle loved the power, he was an ego maniac, so for him to move out to the suburbs ( ive never been to Jersey so i dont know the nice ones ) where their were no criminals to fear him, and him walk into a resteraunt where the people dont know or be affected by who he was would of been torture on him.

Makes sense on Scarfo,why he chose to live in AC.The best part of the book was when Leonetti and Lawrence Merlino beat up this dinasour costume that had a young kid in it.Trust me I don't like young kids getting beat up especially by adults,but the way he explained it was just comical.You just picture L.Merlino as this big bear of a guy and he goes out the back door and circles around and then Leonetti opens the door and their just beating this dinasour costume thinking it was a hitman there to shoot Scarfo,Leonetti,and whoever.They tried to console the kid afterwards by giving him cake and ice cream and some money but the kid was like no thanks I want to go home.He says this is what my son had to see on his 10th birthday,very humiliating.

That's understandable about him knowing he's feared in AC so he stayed there - also he didn't need anymore heat coming down locally and he did have that Florida mansion and Usual Suspects...some of the south Philly row homes and streets don't look much different I guess either, it's just what they are comfortable with and used to growing up around.

Scarfo had the mansion in Hallendale, Florida. I think him staying at the N. Georgia place was more in keeping with the act of keeping a low profile in the "work place". Doesnt happen everywhere, but for the most part, the Philly guys don't live in overly extravegant homes. The papers used to always gush over Merlino's luxury townhouse in South Philly. It's a nice place, but even to this day they sell for around 300k. Not exactly slumming it, but you get what I'm saying. The excess money went toward other things.

If i recall correctly i think Leonetti said Scarfo wasnt at his sons birthday but imagine if he was and he saw the dinosaur he would of told Phil and Larry Merlino " Go get that dinosaur and when you do its this " than make the sign of the gun with his hand, I wonder if they would of worked that into a rico.

You are right on N Philly.....that area is a 3rd world country right here in the US and it is crazy how the politicians ignore what is going on there. I mean you could buy a house there for $1, but who would want to try and fix it up, if you put appliances in they would be gone an hour after you hooked it up, if the city govt came in and did kind of what they are doing in some parts of detroit they could get rid of all that blight there and then it may show progress......no philly will never improve...until the people there and the politicians stop being so PC...feel sorry for the kids raised there its not their faults

No , I mean Hollywood movies that are shot in the Philly area. I heard he has been working them for a while. Excellent pay and easy work. Local 107 in Philly has controlled that work forever. But now a Local out of NYC runs it. His Father was with 107 back in the day.
