What do you mean other than the boss?

"Street boss" is not a rank. It´s most often a captain who supersedes the boss temporarily as an acting boss while the boss is away.

These are the ranks within a Mafia Family:

- Boss
- Underboss
- Consigliere
- Captain
- Soldier

Obvously the highest position in the Family (the boss) is the most important rank. When in prison, the boss delagates his underboss, consigliere or a captain to run the Family for him. But the boss still holds the most important rank within the Family.

Street boss/acting boss hands on deals with the day to day meets with his underboss keeps tabs on all his crews,,this way he can answer anything the real boss(who is locked up) wants to know
front...thats some momo who is put out there so the heat is off the real boss..he makes no policy,he earns and can mediate sitdowns but makes no descions on a sitdown unless he gets the ok from the real guy( Tony Salerno and the chin example)
now the real power is the coffee boy he comes and goes ,,no FBI heat,,,and if he makes a mean cup of espresso the boss will love him and he is untouchable ....its all about the coffee boy(it helps if he makes a good sandwich too)
