Very good. Just don't let it happen again, cowboy. wink

Then again, if you want to vilify someone, who was actually charged with rape, convicted and sentenced for sex crimes, and is registered as a sexual offender, you might recall a fellow in blue from your neck of the woods, who wore #56. smile

No vilifying desires here, just fun-ifying. LT sure had (has) his problems. I wonder how long of a list there is with candidates for vilification?

The hotel LT got snagged in is located about 1 mile from my former residence in NY. It was common to spot LT in the Ramapo Diner close by. The owner's name was Dino and they used to play golf at the nearby public course. I saw LT there several times. His back swing was very short, I suppose due to his musculature, but he sure could hit it far.

Neither like nor dislike the Bears but could Jay Cutler be the most miserable QB around??

When things don't go for him he looks like a sulky teenager about to burst into tears!!

Although in hindsight and to be fair to grumpy young Cut...he had to endure a bad night with terrible protection.

I imagine he went to bed and had nightmares about that hairy monstrosity Clay Matthews bearing down on him all night......

that's been our weakness for three seasons now. we finally got our receivers, but no protection. its still going to be a tough year, and i hope they can get better...other wise i dont expect a long post season (if they make it that far).

The sports pundits were saying all week how the Packers defense stinks. If they do, then the Bears O-line must exceed stink. Oh the headaches when an Offensive line is offensive. That's my fear with he Giants.

The NFL has to realize that the regular refs need to return. I think it was incredibly embarrassing for Goodell and the league that the sideline judge, scheduled to work the Saints-Panthers game, was a fervent, lifelong Saints' fan. By halftime of the Rams and Redskins, multiple analysts were calling that game the worst officiated in the league. They're calling penalties as though they get paid every time they throw a flag.

The NFL has its hands full. Criminals on the field and its a crime that they can't get the officiating right. In an age of instant, super slo-mo, repetitious replays, you'd think they would want to have cream of the crop, top paid officials. Maybe they think robots would be better. They are almost there.

There is a replacement official, who is actually a referee from lingerie bowl. If Goodell doesn't want to bring back the regular refs, he should turn the travesty into a promotion: One lucky fan, picked at random, gets to come down on the field and join the officiating crew. It can't be worse.

Host/NFL Films co-founder Steve Sabol has died at the age of 69 from a brain tumor.

How sad. I grew up watching all his clip shows (and blooper specials) on ESPN in the afternoons, how he and his capsulized the entire history of the NFL and made iconic coaches/players larger than life, a mythology of past titans that stunned and awed you with their God-given talents and self-earned victories. As a kid they somehow made pivotal moments (Jets win SB3, Norwood goes wide left, Ice Bowl, etc.) all come off on the level of friggin Pearl Harbor.

Good shit.

Unfortunately, that is known in The Windy City as "Cutler's Jerk Face". I thought after three years he would have lost it but he had it in Denver as well... frown

i only saw it when that joke of a head coach tried to bring in matt casel. it pissed cutler off, and he demanded a trade. anyways though, if i was in his shoes i would be pissed off at all times. for one thing on the field, the o-line has been terrible for three years. for another he hasn't had a steady offensive coach (one year of turner, two with martz and his complicated offense). then off the field we have the chicago fans and media who scrutinized him so much. it reminds me on how philly treated mcnabb.

I never thought much of Cutler. I've always described him as a million dollar arm with a ten cent head.

the packers did get robbed, and should be pissed.

but, as a bears fan...yea i was laughing at the end (besides that bad call, but the fact the packers couldn't score or stop the seahawks).

I so enjoyed the Bears crushing the Cowboys last night and Romo's implosion. However, in two weeks I will find myself in the uncomfortable position of routing for the Cowboys when they play the Ravens. Go Steelers!

Kly, the Steelers play the Eagles on Sunday. With what team will your allegience lie?

Always with the Steelers. I hnever cared much for the Eagles. Where I live the fans are split evenly between Steeler and Eagle fans, and whenever they play, the name calling starts early. It's the Pennsylvania Super Bowl.

Harrison and Polamalu are returning to the lineup, which will present a problem for Vick. I'm picking the Steelers by 8.

I hope you're right Kly. But, I'm not as sanguine about the Steelers as you. In fact, I'm hoping Mendenhall is fully recovered and gives the Steelers that extra dimension so Ben can pile up the points. I just don't know about their defense.

The defense fell apart in the second half at Oakland, mostly because of the lack of a consistent pass rush. Polamalu and Harrison have been the most vital elements of Dick LeBeau's zone blitz for years. I'm thinking their presence on the field shouild make the other players more effective.

Eagle running back LeSean McCoy is a hometown favorite here in Harrisburg, but on Sunday he's the enemy.

Unfortunately, I'll likely not see the game as my son has a baseball tournament in Maryland.

As fate would have it, it was raining so hard in Maryland Sunday morning, they had to cancel the games for that day. That liberated me to watch the game. I watched it at our K of C club where it was warm enough to view it on the deck with dollar drafts and an open buffet. The Steeler and Eagle fans were equally divided. Good food, dollar drafts, fun people, and a great result.

As much as I hate to state so, the Cowboys take the Ravens straight up.

To be fair, Ravens lost both their top CB and LB for the year today.

Are we going to applaud the Cowboys if they beat a kid with asthma?

Whilst watching my tape of SNF featuring the Packers v Texans yesterday with my middle boy Andrew he raised a very interesting point.

He wanted to know if it was a proper NFL game and i said it was and why was he asking that?

Oh he replied, it was just that there were so many white guys playing he thought it wasn't a proper game!!

From the mouths of babes....even if he is 12 tongue
