I don't like Chris Christie, but I admire his stance on lowering the flag in Trenton to honor Whitney Houston. He received lots of angry and hateful emails that stated he was elevating a drug addict, but he simply said, "There but for the grace of God go I." 98% of the time, I disagree with him, but I do respect this one.

A friend of my son's from his high school made #1 of the ESPN Top Ten Plays last week when he shattered a backboard during a game last week. My son happened to be with him and others after they completed the game the following night when the player got a call from Li'l Wayne, who wants to put him on his tv show. Apparently, Weezy has a sports show? The kid has already committed to Wake Forest;his sister is a star sophomore for the Univ. of Maryland women'steam. The family has the world by the tail right now.

klyd, I saw that on the highlight section of my sports news one night last week. The backboard was COMPLETELY shattered.

I'm pretty sure it was the ABC affiliate here in NY that showed that clip.

I have lost my voice.....croaking like an old hooker who lives on gin and cigarettes!!!

Sign language might be an option. The good ol' middle finger salute is universal and can be used as a quick response when being teased unmercifully. When you become more proficient, signing phrases like "Bugger off!" and "Who drank all the beer?" will become second-nature.

Consider becoming a poet/singer/songwriter. Hell, it worked for Rod McKuen. You may just become the "Flavor of the Month," and reap the rewards of your unspoiled, uncommercial sound.

Ok, this is weird. Ever since Geoff posted that Google Earth post, EVERY TIME I open the Random Post thread I get this pop up:

This page at http://www.mapmywalk co says: We are unable to render video at this time. Do you have a rcent Google Earth plugin for this browser. (ERR-Creat_Plugin). Then I click "ok" at the bottom in order for that screen to disappear.

I never attempted to open the video. Is there a way to get rid of it permanently?

I was getting the same error message as TIS, except that it would pop up twice before I was able to dispatch it permanently.

It's possible that installing Google Earth on your PC (like I have) includes a web plug-in for stuff like this. Or maybe it's included in my Google Chrome browser.

But normally if your browser doesn't have a plugin installed, it'll ask you if you want to install it, so it's bizarre....

Yes, sir. Drove up to Westchester, took my Dad for ashes (and actually stayed for the whole Mass!), then took him for a nice lunch. A full day .
