I search a list of mobster that turn state's evidence from the beginning of the mafia in USA and Sicily
I Know:
Joe Valachi,genovese soldier 1962;
Leonardo Vitale, the first sicilian mafioso to became a pentito,but nobody believed him and finished 10 years in a mental hospital before being killed;
Sammy Gravano, who testified against John Gotti;
Joseph Massino;to avoid death penalty
Salvatore Vitale;
Jimmy Palermo,decavalcante capo;
Ralph Guarino,associate and later member of the decavalcante, for avoid 20 year for robbry;
Henry Hill,to avoid incrimination for selling cocaine and heroin, and don't be killed by Vario or Burke;
John Alite, a half italian and half albanian man, friend of Junior Gotti,who became informant fro avoid prison for had run a cocaine ring in New York in the 80s;

Furio, there are many more than just those guys you´ve listed.
There is a post in here, in a thread, with a list of compiled Mafia turncoats already done by Ivy.
And while we´re on the subject, Joe Valachi was not the first turncoat in US Mafia history.
In the early 1920s (if memory serves me right), Ralph Daniello´s corraboration with police helped solve several murders.
Daniello was a member of a Camorra gang in Brooklyn though (not a Mafia member).
And also in the early 1920s, Bartolomeo Fontano blew the whistle on a gang dubbed (by the media at the time) "The Good Killers". This gang seems to have been part of the early Bonanno Family and included mafiosi Stefano Magaddino (later boss in Buffalo), Bartolomeo DiGregorio, Mariano Galante, Vito Bonventre, Giuseppe Lombardi and Francesco Puma.

Nice list, thanks for posting. Some nitpicking: Thomas “Tommy” Ricciardi/Soldier Wasn't he a capo? Leonard "Lenny" Strollo - Capo First name was "Lenine", and he was just a soldier (but a very powerful one). He was never made, according to Little Al over on TRD.

Did Michael Franzese actually ever testify in a trial/grand jury or actually give information to the FBI on other mobsters? I know he has been on a handful of TV shows and documentaries about the mob, but every time he says that he just simply left the life. I can't remember which documentary/show it was, but in one he made it a point to say that he never ratted on his friends. He says he just plead guilty and then left the life after he was released from prison. But, considering the minimal amount of time he did in prison (I think less than 10 years), you would have to imagine he gave the FBI some sort of information.
It may have even been in the same documentary, he said that if he would have stuck it out he could have been boss once Persico went away for life. I don't know if that was his own opinion or that other guys shared that opinion, but with the amount of money he was making on the gas tax scam alone, I would think he had to have some sort of power within the family.
Not to glorify criminals, but out of all the American mobsters, I always thought that he seemed to be one of the most likeable.
