Go look in the mirror and make a real mean scary tough face like your Silvio Dante and post it on here for everyone. Just make sure you don't poop your pants smile

PS: ChicagoDon how old are you that you have so much insider knowledge on these mummies ?

Strax, Yes it is a combination of inside information and public opinion stated by the F.B.I. & the C.I.A. As far as inside information goes, the Outfit has never been structured like the 5 Families in New York. The Outfit is structured around Street crew power. There have traditionally been 6 street crews in the Outfit, all originating around little Italy neighborhoods in Chicago. There is the Dominent crew, the sub-dominent crew, and the other 4 crews. Each Crew has a Boss, Underboss, maybe a half a dozen Made guys & soldiers who work under the made guys. There are then all of the street associate( like street agent bookmakers & Bar owners ( who partner with the Outfit on poker machines) who do business with the crew. The 4 Crew bosses are partners with and work together with the Dominent & Sub Dominent Crews. The 6 Bosses plus usually a semi-retired Top boss who acts as an advisor make up the Board of Directors who act like a commission. There were traditionally anywhere from 60 to maybe 75 active made guys at anytime on the street. The strongest time for the outfit was from 1957 to 1966 when Sam Giancana, the Boss of the old Taylor St. Crew was the Top Boss of the Outfit. The Top Boss of the Oufit has the strongest Crew. he doesn't sit alone up on a hill and travel around with one bodyguard and then get killed like Paul Castellano.

I thought they got Vegas to themselves after they killed Alan Dorfman? Someone big at least. That and they helped the Eastern families get a strong hold in AC.

Though I do have to kinda agree with you, Chicago does pick it's wiseguys better. There's a far more organized structure in NY, but it seems that Chicago has a better run on it's organization.

Though one thing Chicago never had was as strong as a hold on unions and most notably docks like the Eastern families did and have.

Chicago does have legitimate construction companies that do work outside of Philadelphia in the wealthy suburbs. They also have some trucking companies as well.

Dick Nose, I like Philly very much. Been to South Philly a few times. I was born in Chicago and my uncle has been a made guy in the Outfit for over 30 years. before that he was a soldier for about 18 years. I know a lot about it. The Chicago Outfit is very well organized and still has tremendous power in Chicago and out west. Like everything else, the Outfit has downsized to 4 Street Crews: Elmwood Park ( Dominent ), Grand Ave., Cicero & 26th St. The Dominent Crew is called the ( extended ) Elmwood Park Crew because within the crew there is a Capo with made men besides the Top Boss of the Entire Outfit who has men directly with him. Back in 1957, Sam Giancana became th Boss of the extended Taylor St. Crew and Top Boss of the Outfit. There was no sub dominent Crew. The other 4 crews at that time were Rush St., Cicero, Elmwood Park & Chicago Heights. All were partnered with Giancana & his men who ran Bookmaking, Poker machines, Loan Sharking, Union Racketeering etc. I learned a lot by watching and asking certain harmless types of questions at the right moments. I learned how truly powerful the Outfit was and that it reached all the way out to Las Vegas & the West Coast. The Outfit almost literally ran Chicago and had tremendous influence in the 50 wards in the city and all the suburbs. I learned about the tremendous difference between the Chicago Outfit and the 5 Families in New York. I always thought, along with a lot of other people, that the Outfit was much better organized than New York and much less chaotic. There were also made men who were specialists of sorts who were direct with the Top Boss. During this time, from 1957 to 1966, the Outfit had maybe 300 men who actually belonged to the street crews, however, maybe 75 at the most were actually made men. In order to be made, you had to be full Italian. Made men were very elite and ran and supervised franchises. the Soldiers in the crews worked under the made men as collectors, Bookmaking office agents etc. There were several Little Italies in Chicago. Years ago, the biggest was Taylor St. on the west side. That is where my uncle was born.

How would you describe the power of the Outfit today? Like the New York families they to have been hammered by the feds/gov.

Nick, You are correct about the docks in New York. However, I completely disagree with you about the Union activity in general. Chicago had tremendous power within the unions in Chicago. In Fact, a couple of the Chicago Outfit bosses like Vince Solano & Albert Tocco were actually presidents of a couple of unions! Joey Lombardo ( One of the former Top bosses of the Outfit) Literally financed some htels in Las Vegas with the Teamsters. The teamsters Union was the fucking Bank for the Outfit. The outfit today is still strong with the unions. John DiFronzo is the Boss of the extended Elmwood Park Group and the top Boss of the Outfit. His Brother, Pete DiFronzo, is very strong with the unions. in Fact, I would say Union activity ( Construction) along with Bookmaking & Poker machines, is still fairly strong in Chicago. Loan Sharking is down from before because the guys are too afraid that some juice loan victims willl run to the feds too easily. There has been very few Outfit related murders in Chicago in the last 12 years since 2000. I'd say say maybe 3.

Sorry, I made a typo. The Outfit Basically elected John Kennedy in 1960. New York Coulkd never have accomlished such a feat in 1960. First of all, the 5 Families would never even have been able to agree which person to support, Nixon or Kennedy.

No, there is information from the F.B.I. stating that the Oufit was the best organized crime group in the Country. If one or two of you New Yorkers don't want to believe it, I really don't care. Look at the long, long, long list of rats in the New York 5 families where they made everybody and his brother, including the taxi cab drivers who pick you up at the airport, and compare it to the ONE rat in Chicago. I'll rest my case.

Okay, no problem. I'LL post the Chicago Outfit stuff on another thread. A couple of you New Yorkers can fantasize how powerful the rat infested disorganized 5 Families are on this thread, including all the internal fighting that went on from the 1960's forward and all the Bosses that got killed by their own men and how the Zips dominated the stupid disorganized Bonnano Family where the Boss moved to Arizona and wrote a book about it.

Yeah they don't use names that end in a vowel. It's like other state in the country the bids come in, so do all the major players. One hand washes another. The Marcellus/ Shell project I flew up there with my boss this is, Mansfield,Pa there are people from Texas, Canada, Etc.

TRY: WELSH

Oh and there were a few capos from the mickey mouse club..I think Donald Duck rose to the rank of Capo in the late 80's when all the families took blows from federal prosecutors.
