Frank Gangi. I would think you have to put him in there since it seems he just woke up one day and realized he needed to make a change. I know he got picked up for a DUI but in light of what he was involved with, that isn't even a blip on the radar. I can't imagine that making him flip. I believed he really had a change of heart.

From the NY Post:
Later, Gangi got arrested for drunk driving — and he immediately called for a detective, ready to turn on his old friend Tommy, even though he was only facing a ticket. “This is about murders, terrible murders,” he told the arresting cop, according to Carlo. Gangi just couldn’t live with the guilt.

Nick the crow is full of BS on most accounts. A very close relative of mine knew him well years before he got involved with Scarfo till the time he turned rat. He was a compulsive liar and half the stuff he said on the stand and tv interviews afterwards are BS. He was also very very dumb, my relative had to pick him up in Center City Philadelphia one time because he couldnt find his way back home to South Philly from a bar he was drinking at. He also told me that during the ride home a very drunk Caramandi was crying the whole time about how he dont know why he got mixed up in this life.

Food for thought. Obviously can't be corroborated. But he does have that alcoholic tenor to his voice in these mob docs.

Valachi was definitely coached and didn't know much more than what he personally experienced and knew by rumor, except for his personal relationship with Genovese, Tony Bender, Gagliano and Reina he was rather low on the totum pole. I tend to think that had he not been around during the warfare of the 1920s when the families needed willing and ready shooters, he'd never have been inducted in the first place. He wasn't a big earner, constantly in trouble and not a very successful criminal in things beyond low-level theft.

Though I think his testimony is important in that what he didn't know, it tells us a lot about how compartmentalized things were in his era.

This life of ours, this is a wonderful life. If you can get through life like this, hey, thats great. But it's very, very unpredictable. There are so many ways you can screw it up.-Paul Castellano (he would know)

My main man John Alite!!

EDIT: I was just trollin' a bit, but that doesn't suit me LOL

If I have to think of any, I'll go with Phil Leonetti, but that's just a gut feeling because I really don't know enough about all the cases he testified at..

Michael "Scars" DiLeonardo seems very truthful and I believe was used extensively in numerous trials by the Feds as a Expert witness of the Mob. Here is is a transcript of his testimony:

Good call, Beans. Most rats are scumbags. But that doesn't mean that they're ALL lying. Scars is a bright guy. And he comes across as such, both in the courtroom and in interviews.

I have a lot of trouble knowing why DiLeonardo flipped because he comes in his interviews across as a man with a lot of reverence for Cosa Nostra and knowledge of its history..

He also talks a lot about how he urged Junior to listen more to the oldtimers, like Valenti from Rochester, because they had great stories and great advice, I mean he was so steeped in The Life with every fiber of his being..

So I really think he regrets testifying a lot, I don't know, that's just how I feel..
