Ok, so I guess you won't be seeing the new one either hu? lol

Yeah I don't know, I just could never get quite into it. It's too James Bondish or something. I'm more into Die Hard and stuff like that.

Yeah Die Hard has been a favorite of mine since I was just a kid. I have a habit of watching it every Christmas. There's just something about a severely bruised up hero cop with a bad hangover and a marriage in the toilet I find very appealing. Well, I relate to that more than James Bond..It's just more realistic to me. Bond could be falling through a roof and six stories and still not one hair out of place. Then he gets every girl he wants! It's just not right.

Has anyone see the trailers for the James Gandolfini HBO series? God, he looks like John Ryes-Davies; nothing like Tony Soprano.

Oli,

I have seen the previews and yes he looks nothing like Tony Soprano. I haven't checked out the show yet though.

Just tuned in to the CHILL channel which is showing a movie called, White Noies 2 The Light (I never saw 1), about a guy who after a near death experience can tell when someone is going to try and he tries to tempt fate by helping them. Interesting premise. I'll see if it keeps my interest. Don't know any of the actors, but I'll give it a shot.

Anyone seen Scream 4? We watched it last night. It was fun to see the old cast together, and the genre is always good for a chuckle, but it was just meh. Done to death, no pun intended.

SB,

I haven't seen Scream 4. I think I've seen one and two only. I did enjoy them but yea, by the time you get to 4 it's probably like you say, pretty much 'done to death." I'm not going to the theater to see it, but might check it out when it comes to HBO or regular tv.

Scream 4 has gotten some very good reviews at the internet movie database. Doesn't have to mean anything. After all, Inception has got like 8.5 over there, which to me is ridiculous. If it hadn't been for the amazing special effects, Inception would've gone straight to video.

Anyway, I recently saw The Killer Inside Me with Casey Affleck. It was interesting, but it was a tough movie to watch. The lead character was such a sick individual, I couldn't help but root for his downfall. Don't watch this if you're in a good mood.

Reminds me of a movie with Christian Bale that I started to watch on a late show a few years ago. It was American Psycho and boy was it sick!!!! panic Not the kind of movie you watch from bed trying to fall asleep. lol Certain movies you must be in the mood for no doubt.

Exactly. And when the movie's finished your mood has been on a downward spiral for the past ninety minutes or so. Sick movies like the ones we're talking about tend to suck all the energy out of me. One time I downloaded this serial killer documentary pack and I'd watch three or four docs in a row sometimes. Just these serial killer stories, absolutely terrible human beings. And after like the third documentary, I was just completely done. Didn't even have the energy to stand up.

Of course in my example, you'd think with a title like American Psycho, it might be a clue as to the content. lol

In my defense however, I just tuned into the movie and didn't know the title til later. That guy was a total sicko!!! panic

I haven't, yet, but look forward to it. But, as with most film series, the more they make the worse they get -- but I like watching them (and the traps) regardless!

Speaking of "horror" type movies. The Chill station has been playing the remake of "The Hitcher." Anyone here see it? Talk about road rage? lol panic I really liked the original and I know the remake (from what I've read) got trashed, but I liked it. It made me cringe, it was kind of sick, but hey!!!!!! lol

I haven't seen the remake, but I loved the original. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. And also after having viewed that film I can honestly say I will never pick up a hitchhiker.

Never saw "The Hitcher" but thanks, I've added the original to my Netflix queue...

Hey Geoff,

You might want to rent the 1986 version first. It stars C. Thomas Howell and Rutger Hauer as the Hitcher. It got much better reviews than the remake. However, I also liked the remake.

Rutger Hauer scared the crap out of me in that movie. I saw it many years ago, and it gave me nightmares for months. C. Thomas Howell, as the kid who picks up Hauer, did a very nice turn as a serial killer himself in "Criminal Minds".

Two of my favorite TV shows return this week. "In Plain Sight" has its season premiere on USA. Marshall Mary Shannon is one of my favorite female characters of all time. The show is written very well, and I'm happy to see it back.

Friday night, "Flashpoint" returns to CBS. The show is about the Canadian "SWAT" equivalent. My brother hates it, and finds it formulaic, but I enjoy the show.

SB,

I never saw The Hitcher at the theater but rented it on video. During that period I was going thru a divorce with not too much money and we rented a lot of movies. I sort of "discovered" Rutgar Hauer in that film, and ended up seeing him in other films (although this was his best IMHO) and became familiar with his name & type roles. Yes, he is the perfect "scary" dude. panic

I only saw Flashpoint once or twice but it wasn't bad. And although it doesn't look too bad, I never really saw a full episode of "In Plain Sight."

I am enjoying AMC's "The Killing" and The SciFI's "Being Human." The BBC also has a British version of "Being Human" that I've been following as well.

I've been a fan of the show for some time. Not sure what the connection is to my dear departed "West Wing", but many of the actors from WW appear on "In Plain Sight". Mary McCormack, who stars as Marshall Mary, was on the last couple of seasons of WW, so maybe she requested her former coworkers. She's pregnant in real life and I read that they're going to work her pregnancy into this season. I'm not sure how that will work out, but I'll be watching to find out.

Hey Bethee,

I'm coming out to Camden Yards on June 28th for the Orioles-Cardinals Interleague game. My uncle is almost 80 years old and a big Cardinals fan. We're taking him this year as an early birthday present.

Any good Italian restaurants you can recommend?

I'll wave to you from my office window. I work a block and a half from the ballpark.

We have our own Little Italy not to far away. I assume you're driving, so it's only about a 10 minute drive away. Little Italy has a couple good restaurants still open. They still play Bocce Ball in the alleys behind a restaurant. Here is a link to restaurants in Little Italy.

Thanks, Beth.

Cool site. I've actually been to the Little Italy section in Baltimore two or three times before, but it's nice to have the restaurant links layed out for me like that.

I'll let you know how it goes smile.

DWTS - Is all that hugging and kissing for real? or do the directors tell them to carry on like that? I wonder how many of them consumate the relationship with a Big Lambada. tongue All that touchy, feely, hip bumpin' would have me in a lather....except if I was dancing with Kirstie or Wendy. I'll volunteer for Cheryl Burke as a partner.

LOS ANGELES — A lawyer entered a no contest plea Wednesday for Lindsay Lohan in the theft of a necklace, setting the stage for a summer of confinement, counseling and community service.

Defense attorney Shawn Holley made the plea for the actress, who did not appear in court in the misdemeanor case involving a $2,500 necklace taken from an upscale shop in the Venice area of Los Angeles.

Lohan, 24, did not acknowledge guilt through the plea, but the court will log the case as a conviction.

Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner ordered Lohan to serve a 120-day jail sentence and remain on probation in a 2007 drunken driving case while she completes 480 hours of community service and undergoes psychological counseling.
