I love DST. It's a reminder to me that spring/summer is on the way. I'm glad the extended it from March thru Nov.

Daylight saving time is pointless. What about the nights? You're making the nights shorter. Have night saving time! Some of us are mobsters or farmers.

Yea but don't you like the longer days? Night time will always get here eventually. Stay up an hour later then and make up for it. I don't know, to me, it's nice having longer days especially in the summer.

Well, it's like spring here today. Currently 81 and sunny and clear. I love it.

Can't come soon enough! I love the extended daylight hours. It's wonderful to be able to cook outside without a flashlight, sit out in the backyard after dinner. Just love it.
I don't like it. Spring forward indeed. I need the extra sleep!

Wasn't DST extended during the G.W. Bush administration? I remember being very happy w/ that decision but am still not used to the March time change even after 4+ years.
Always find myself saying....
ALREADY!?!?

I was very happy that the duration of DST was lengthened. The best part was trick or treating and it was still daylight!
Edit: taking the kids trick or treating, lest someone think I'm a creeper.
Cool. Did anyone go as a clown????

On the clock the day is 23 hours instead of 24. If you choose to lose the hour of sleep that is entirely up to you. I will still sleep the same amount of time, so I actually lose an hour of my waking day. You only lose an hour if you have to get up at a specified time.....like for church on Sunday morning.

Sorry Vin, that's perverted...not funny, unless you're pedophile. The FBI might be tracking you as we speak..write...whatever.
You bring up a great point. Ok so for the FBI men, who are probably reading this with great concern. That was a pedophile joke everybody! I am not a pedophile. I LOVE CHILDREN. Ok, that ought to calm them. However, if you can't laugh at a few off color pedophile jokes, you may need to loosen up and have a Manhattan.

Lots of tasteless/immature humor is tolerated and laughed off on the Gangster BB. It's part of the fun.
BUT...you cannot joke about pedophiles any more than you can joke about rape. These people destroy lives and it's one of the few subjects where there is NO place for humor.
Use your brains, VG and realize that you are dealing with adults here, good people who have families and lives.
And if you don't understand that, maybe YOU need to loosen up and have a Manhattan (or better yet put it down).
Back to the subject of DST...woke up too late to get my daughter to religious ed class on time (8:30 a.m.). She has a nasty cold anyway so better she stayed in bed & we both got a decent Sunday morning sleep-in.

Who are you to tell me what I can and cannot joke about. Yeah all right, I'll play by the rules and try my best not to offend the puritans in here. You know, I happen to have a family myself. My ex gf was sexually abused by her stepfather. She used to wake up in the middle of the night screaming and crying hysterically. There is not a thing I hate more than pedophilia. I, however see nothing wrong with making fun of these disgusting people. Good luck with your opinions.

I concur with Geoff's and Apple's statements. It is unfortunate that from time to time this Board attracts posters who don't have the maturity that most of we Board members have.
You can choose not to joke about certain subjects because they are reprehensible to we Board members (with a few exceptions).

Probably in most cases, but we don't all have the same sense of humor. Some people like Andrew Dice Clay and some people hate Andrew Dice Clay. I happen to love him.
Watch this with an open mind and tell me he's not a genius.

But if you insist...you might want to just start yourself another thread OR take your favorite videos to the YouTube Thread since Daylight Savings Time is quickly becoming old news.

As long as it's for making daylight savings year around, I'm all for it. Screw these people who want to end daylight savings. There's a movement to do this in California. Retired boomers who want to go outside, talk loud, and wake the neighbors up at 4am instead of 5am.

Lol, you just made me home sick Oak. I had a nice elderly couple living next door to me out in Califonia, and you could set your watch to them being out on the front porch talking at 430 in the morning.

Me too TIS. I remember that as a kid in Pittsburgh I just couldn't wait for DST to begin and was sorry when it ended. I don't know why anyone would object to it.

I would like DayLight Savings Time to start first Saturday night of March and go until first Saturday night of October.
The way they have it now is confusing. 2am Sunday morning or such and second Sunday of March.
I was at first upset when George Bush changed it to March, but then really pleasantly loved it. Thing is before it seemed like a 2 hour difference in April. I don’t know why. But it just seems easier to adjust now at the start.
But DayLight Savings time goes on way too long. It should end in early October or late September. We’re getting garbage evening hour time right now in October, the sun’s already starting to turn orange at 7pm in late August. And even by late August it’s still dark out at 6:30am. The ladies I worked with at Avon were creeped out that we suddenly plunged into darkness going home in the evening when it fell back in November. If we did it in early October or late September it’d be easier to adjust.
Also the Sunday morning 2am thing is confusing. I’d do it Saturday night 11pm. You get an extra 10pm hour for one fall night and lose the 11pm hour for one spring night.
And for those who want it all year round I’d just say we either lose or gain 30 minutes (depending where we are) and stay there permantly. That way it’d be a happy medium.
