So, more than likely, they had consensual sex gone bad. She threatened to expose him for being a brute. He promised to pay her off. He reneged on paying her. Now, three years later, she wants some money.

I was never an Irvin fan, and I almost almost take the woman at her word in these entitled, spoiled, celebrity/athlete types of situations, but this sounds fishy to me.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been accused of sexual assault by a woman in Georgia, entertainment website TMZ reported Friday. Formal charges have yet to be filed. SportsByBrooks' take Brooks has the complete inside scoop, with developing details on the alleged incident.

The alleged incident reportedly occurred early Friday morning in a bathroom in Capital City, a club in Milledgeville, Georgia. The alleged victim, who has already been interviewed by police, was treated at a local hospital and released, law enforcement sources told TMZ.
Roethlisberger's representatives denied the allegations.

"Last night, Ben and his friends met a group of women and everyone mingled together throughout the evening," Roethlisberger's agent, Ryan Tollner, told profootballtalk.com. "We have spoken to law enforcement. Based on information currently available, an allegation was made against Ben, which appeared to be dismissed after a preliminary investigation last night. Obviously, given the prior accusation against Ben, we are skeptical of motive, but we will continue to cooperate with everyone involved." According to sportsbybrooks.com, Steelers offensive lineman Willie Colon was with Roethlisberger at the club.

I cannot believe there have not been comments from the Steeler fans about the latest Roethlisberger accusation. That now brings the tally to 3 idiotic actions he has taken in the past 5 offseasons: 1) his Evil Knievel impression when he nearly killed himself riding a motorcyle in 2006, 2) being accused of rape in 2008, and 3) the current accusation in Georgia of fondling a woman.

Regardless of the outcome, this guy acts as if he is bullet proof. At a minimum, Roethlisberger should be suspsended for 1/2 of the upcoming season. He obviously has a problem and finds himself, much like Pac Man Jones and Chris Henry, in situations where there is trouble. Unlike Tiger Woods, Ben is not married and can associate with whomever he wants. But if he had an ounce of common sense (which appears unlikely given the pattern of stupidity), he would think long and hard about where he hangs out. Even moreso now, there is a huge target on his back and he will be followed around by the supermarket press. And he has absolutely nobody to blame but himself.

Olivant, all due respect, I think you're having a hard time being objective here.

Normally, you're the morals police here . For example, you're radically pro-life, yet you look at the (possible) sexual asaults of two women as no big deal? I find that a bit contradictory. And now that the subject matter involves your beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, you seem to want to give the guy the benefit of the doubt.

Now I'm not saying that Ben's guilty, but if it turns out that he goes out fondling women, then I'd say he does "have a problem," as Goombah suggests. Wouldn't you agree?
