We went to a carnival over the weekend. I couldn't make up my mind if I wanted a gyro or a stromboli. The stromboli won and it was good.

I just got back from a cruise to Mexico. The food on the ship was fantasic. Italian food to my hearts content. I finally got to try buffalo mozzarella.

Good old Number One on the Chinese takeout menu is still my favorite: Chicken chow mein, fried rice and an egg roll.

The honeycrisp apples are out. these are the best apples of the season, tart and sweet, crisp and juicy. I must have bought 40 pounds of them so far.

The fried apples I had were NOT fritters.... what I had was cubed pieces of apple fried and some sugar and other stuff added. My friend's parents were from the south, so I'm guessing it was a southern treat.

I did like them but I suspect something like that wouldn't be too healthy for me now.

I don't actually fry them. I peel them and cut them up and boil them in water add a little sugar and cinnamon. Yummy!!
