This fall semester I will be showing Woodstock videos to my classes especially of Hendrix , Joplin, and Joe Cocker.

I've been to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, which was the site of the original concert. There's a museum, plus they have concerts all summer. It's very lovely.

One of my coworkers was at Woodstock. He was a few months shy of his 18th birthday at the time, and he can't believe it's been 40 years.

I watched that couple on the news last night. That's quite a story. What memories. The old foggy in my now wonders though how and where did everyone go to the bathroom. haha.

Actually, my coworker just told us about that. He said that there were port-a-potties and they were downright NASTY. He said he followed the truck that emptied them so that he could grab one that was recently serviced.

In Stephen King's latest short story collection "Just After Sunset, there's one called "A Very Tight Place." The plot being someone trapped in a port-a-potty. Yuck!

Only out of the mind of Stephen King.

With 500,000 people there it must have been a bitch of a line. Besides, if you were in the middle of a crowd somewhere, by the time you walked over to where the port-a-potties were you could have already relieved yourself.

I am spending my holiday decorating the ground level of our house and i am not impressed

Covered in paint spots (like a deranged Dalmation),sore neck from stretching up to the ceilings and having kids and animals wandering about with bits of stripped wallpaper hanging off them cos they keep getting in the way!!

I am not a fan of decorating.

Yogi, I HATE wallpaper, mostly because I am quite fickle, and find it too difficult to change. We had wallpaper border (VERY in in the 80s and 90s) in our dining room. Even taking that down was too much trouble.

Wallpapering(stripping or putting new up),painting,whatevering!!!!!!!

SB, i hate it all.

I would gladly get someone in to do it but my wife likes to do it so of course i do my share. I managed to get out of it today,i cut the grass and the hedge........

I'll let you in on a little secret, Yogi. When your daughter is older, she'll have boyfriends. Anxious to impress the parents, they may be inclined to pitch in around the house. Take advantage.

Talking about my daughter. She has spent the better part of the holidays wandering about the house either not speaking or generally just grunting occasionly in my direction(those teenage hormones again).

Last night me and my wife had a nice night out,the kids slept at my mothers and Jennifer just texted me all night cos she was bored. She spends all her time in my company looking like she doesn't want to be there and when i get rid for a night she wants to be my best pal

Yogi, same here. There are times I need dynamite and tweezers to pry the girls out of their rooms, but then I hear from them non-stop when I'm not with them. Hang in there. It gets better.

"Reader's Digest to file for bankruptcy

The company's been struggling because of the global ad slump. The Chapter 11 filing will convert $1.6 billion in debt into equity.

The publisher of Reader's Digest, the country's most popular general interest magazine, said today it will seek Chapter 11 protection from creditors amid declining circulation, an industry-wide advertising slump and large debts.

Privately held Reader's Digest Association said it has reached an agreement with a majority of secured lenders to restructure its debt."

It's really a shame that a venerable company like the Digest has to resort to bankruptcy. A sign of the times.

No wonder they keep haggling me to renew a subsription for a book I don't even read. My mom gave all her daughters subscriptions to it for Christmas 2 years ago. The bill is in her name, but since the book comes to me they bug me as well. I kept telling my mom to cancel it after the year, that I don't even read it. Of course, I got the lecture of how she likes the book and it's a good read, why don't I like it...blah, blah, blah. It's a boring book, that's why I don't like it.

My father had subscribed for Reader's Digest for a year in my childhood. I don't think I ever read even one of them fully.
