That's a classic.

I know, Klyd. But they got soooo old. So I Googled them and came to find out that they're not much older than I am, which depressed the Hell out of me lol. They were all born in the early '50s. They were babies when they sang those songs.

PB,

I love that song too (my favorite by them). I couldn't even tell you what the group looked like then, let alone now. But I do remember they had a string of decent hits back in the day.

A while back I was amazed (and shocked) when I was flipping thru the channels and they had a 60's tribute (my time). I couldn't believe it was actually Eric Burden singing. eek When did he get so old?

Then, I saw another PBS with 50's groups, which was pretty good, with these singers a little older yet. They had one lady sing her one hit wonder song (I wish I could remember it). This lady was about 15 when she recorded the song, so today at 50something she looked like a kid among the oldsters. lol

TIS

Edit for anyone who cares: I think the song she sang was "I told Every Little Star."

He - (Simón Bolívar) - was shaken by the overwhelming revelation that the headlong race between his misfortunes and his dreams was at that moment reaching the finishing line. The rest was darkness. "Damn it," He sighed. "How will I ever get out of this labyrinth!"

So what’s the labyrinth?

That’s the mystery isn’t it? Is the labyrinth living or dying? Which is he trying to escape - the world, or, the end of it?

I was curious to know how the economy has effected everyone's job. I work in a printing plant in Illinois and since March we have been on a 4 day - 32 hour work week because of the slow demand for printed products. At this time, no lay offs - thank God. Just recently we have gotten our fifth day back on a temp basis and it has lifted spirits a bit. Normally at this time of year we are working 6 days a week with about 10 hours of OT to sweeten the pot. Needless to say vacation is out of the question and any extras - fuhgettaboutit. How are you guys doing?...

My sister is the accountant for a graphic design company, and she says they're inundated with phone calls from printing firms wanting more work. The graphics company itself is feeling the pressure to get more clients and jobs. It's a very small firm.

I'm unemployed at present. I graduated from university a week ago. Finding it difficult to get a job, though in truth I've been quite selective as to what I want. They're apparently wanting telephone advisors with an immediate start (and little experience) for emergency and temporary swin flu helplines, but I looked online earlier and they seem to be all based in London, which is no good for me.

Students are flocking to higher education and my larger class sizes reflect that. We are straining to accommodate the influx of students.

Yeah, I'm looking into doing a Masters in film production, hopefully in London. That won't be until next Autumn at least. It's partly due to the feeling of loss once you get outside of academia; I've been institutionalized, in a way.

And the film industry isn't friendly to socialists. smile

Watching "The Insider" and they show a picture of a 70's movie star asking if we could guess who it was. Looked a little familiar. She had grey hair and looked "old."
Turns out it was Shelly Duvall from "The Shining". Not a flattering picture at all. Then again, what do you expect 30 some years later? In that respect, it would suck to be famous. lol The photogs love to catch you at your worse.

It was truer to the old "Popeye" comic strip than it was to the "Popeye" cartoons most of us saw on tv as kids. Everything was done in a sing-song kind of dialog and I thought the casting was excellently done. You also got a cartoon-feel from the photography.

Whisper,

Did you ever try putting butter and parm cheese on your pasta? I remember my mom making it as a quick lunch/dinner. I still sometimes make it. It's gotta be better than ketchup lol

The whole family are in the living room. I am on the lap top,the 2 youngest boys are on the Wii,the oldest boy is on his DS. My daughter has her her i-pod and my wife is fiddling about with her mobile phone.

Talk about reliance on modern technology eek lol

Whatever happened to the old days when we had sing songs round the old piano and all shared the same bathwater once a week?
