I've noticed there are many different variations on the Godfather novel if you will. I found a book in the library, the one I read, which was the basic story I presume.
Since then especially on this board wink I read stuff that was never in 'my book' after looking at Amazon.co uk I realise why the books are up the ying yang.
Can anyone please tell me a definitive Godfather book to buy and read for entertainment and decent reference.? Thank you smile

WOw this is a first!

Which movies do I buy?
Which BOOK do I buy?

Hmm, I have the 1999 30th anniversary blackcover paperback.

I assume the 25th Anniversary, oversized redcover paperback would be the best for alternate sources

ALL Editions contain the full story of course!

But the 25tha nniversary one includes Puzo's testimony of why he wrote the book, A foreword by a Newspaper Reviewer, and a afterthought by Nicholas Pileggi about how The Godfather book and films influenced culture, the Mafia etc. He goe sinto detail of how Goodfellas would never be ahit if the Godfather hadn't come along first.

If you've got 444$ someone was selling the First Edition hardcover on EBAY.

I've seen a black hardcover witha Gangster on the front (Can be seen at JGeoff's B Page) and a black hardcover that has Godfather written in white all over th ecover.

Other than that, buy the paperback , and read the forum!
