I could care less, the NBA has lost me for good.

And lest you think I'm just a cranky old man, I used to go to at least a dozen Knick games a year, half a dozen Net games, and at least 1 Sixer game.

They're a bunch of f'n thugs, who are not worth my time, and certainly not worth my money.

What Tiger Woods is doing, week-in, week-out, year-after-year, is comparable to anything Ruth, Ali or Jordan ever did.

I feel lucky to to see it.

He may be the best (I think he is), but what Tiger's "been doing" the past couple years is NOT playing more than a handful of tournaments a year... Granted last year his pops died, but so far he's only played in 2 events this year (he did win them both), but why isn't he more active?

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

He's playing 17-20 tournaments a year, same as Phil.

Who?

Exactly.

Well, his Pop died two years ago and his wife gave birth last year, so I'll give him a pass.

It's probably just boredom with having no competition. Kind of like Jordan's "retirements."

I used to love the NBA, lost interest a long time ago, probably after one of Jordan's retirements. It just got boring.

I've seen a little of the games now and they travel like crazy and it's never called.

I agree that the NBA of today is nowhere as good as it used to be in the 1980s and mid-1990s. I hate the traveling that is never called, the whining over every foul called, the lack of good fundamentals, and the tattoos.

I think I stopped watching a few years after Garnett and Kobe came into the league from High School

The league is moving away from that thug image though. There are a lot of young bright stars in the league that are actually intelligent and have some class.

I agree. The players from the NBA may actually now be more respectable and admirable than their NFL and MLB counterparts.

The league is probably moving away from that as a whole, but the perception is still negative for many. I think many people still have the 2004 melee between Indiana & Detroit in their minds, instead of the positive things that are being done but not widely known. The whole thing with the NBA hosting the All-Star Game to help rebuild New Orleans is a tremendous idea. The NFL should consider skipping Hawaii for its Pro Bowl and doing something similar.

While I don't watch a lot of the NBA, I get the sense that team play has returned. Teams like San Antonio and Detroit won championships, emphasizing a team concept, and in Boston three stars are able to share the ball. Even Kobe has taken fewer shots and been unselfish.

Me either!! It seems forever until spring training starts. Then once it does, it seems forever until you see a game - even one that doesn't count.

Seems like the Pacers have a lot of trouble with the law nowadays, no more Reggie Millers...

There seems to be some justice in the sports broadcasting world. I heard on Fox Radio this morning that ESPN's Sean Salisbury was fired this week.

I've been getting into hockey a little bit, mostly due to a video game I've been addicted to.

Bobby Murcer being cancer free is the best thing I've seen on the news in weeks.

It turns out the x-ray they were worried about turned out to be just scar tissue.

Way to go, Bobby!

Good to see the Blue Jays beat the Tigers today even though it's just spring training and the game isn't really real.

The Maple Leafs will beat the Devils tonight and the Raptors will beat the Sonics tomorrow.

Oh yeah, heard about Mr. Murcer's (Yankee colour guy I believe) battle with cancer and it goes without saying that it's truly inspiring.

Colts fan eh Longneck? I read on wikipedia...er the official Indianpolis Colts website that they originally wanted to call it "Indiana Stadium." Would've been a much better name, but there are good and bad things about the age we live in. The stadium itself looks wicked and should be a great home for the Colts.
