This is my first post here, and scarface is for me the best film of all time : D

they could do a film in the same style as SF full of guns and volience with a similar story line around drug and rage and power.

Think it would work and still be distinct if its set in modern day america, SF was a one off and nothing has been tried like it since, time for another film that can glorify the underground dream of money, drugs and power without the moral twist or political correctness or simply bad script.

What you all think of that guys?

Welcome to the boards. I don't know if you are aware of this or not, but a sequel was written in book format titled "The Return Of SF" and is a must read for any real Scarface fan.

I've always thought that this book had a story that was good enough to turn into a Movie.

Toni, can I ask you a serious question? Do you read through these threads that you post in or do you just post what comes to mind without reading through them? A link was posted above for the Return Of SF book for anyone interested in learing about it or buying it. But anyway, here it is again for you:

THE RETURN OF SF is the story of two brothers, Alejandro and Roberto. Join their wild journey from the streets of Cuba, to the excitement of Miami's nightlife. We follow them and their attempts to resist the drug world that doomed their father.

It is also about a major player coming back from the past. At first trying to live a normal life. But ultimately realizing that revenge is the only answer.

Read more about it, and order it from here:

Ok, maybe this will help :

Basically it's about two boys, who are twins, who were left behind in Cuba when there "father" left for America. The father did not know that he had fathered two children with a girl that he had relationships with before he left Cuba. The father, as we already know, becomes a big time drug lord, but eventually gets a little to big and is taken out by drug cartel that he was supposed to carry out a favor for. Sound familiar? I think you know that part of the story already.

Eventually the boys get older and find out that they had a father who lived in America. They get into some trouble while still in Cuba and have no choice but to flee to America. The rest is pretty entertaining, but you will have to read it to find out how these boys take the similar path that their father once took. There are also some characters that come back in the book that you will know. Read it, you'll enjoy it. A very well written book. The author did his homework and there aren't any inconsistancies between the original Scarface characters and the ones in this book.
