Roger is digging his own grave today. The indictment is coming.

His statement that Andy Pettitte must have misheard him in 1999 or 2000 during their HGH conversation is absolutely absurd. This is a subject where you wouldn't expect a misunderstanding as great as the one Clemens portrays. There's a big difference in saying three guys on tv were discussing the recovery benefits of HGH, and saying, I'm taking the stuff and it's working wonders," both in the substance of the statements and the effect on the listener.

Also, there was no doubt in the mind of Pettitte in what Clemens said. As a close friend of Clemens he would love any opportunity to express any uncertainty.

The Feds take perjury very seriously, practically personally. He's a fool for lying to them.

I think the word Roger used about Andy was "misremembered". Is that even a word?

Now why would Andy lie about his good buddy Rog? Didn't anyone learn anything from Palmeiro?

BTW....nothing's ever happened to him. It's obvious he committed perjury.

The statute of limitations on federal perjury is five years. They still have time. They waited 4 years on Bonds, so Palmeiro's not out of the woods yet.

I heard him say at one point, "misheard."

The way he invents words he can be an ESPN analyst or president of the USA.

Funny, I usually only hear words like "misremembered" and "misheard" (not necessarily improper mis- words) in lawyerspeak! \:p ;\)

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

Chivalry is dead. Roger said his wife admitted to him that she took HGH without his knowledge. What a crock of shit. She's gonna get her hands on this without having to go through him. Talk about being thrown under a bus.

The republicans on the committee should really be ashamed of themselves for fawning all over Clemens today. It almost made me wonder if they were taking orders from Clemens' fellow liar from Texas. Yeah, him, the fucktard living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Hey, Roger, by the time you're tried for perjury he'll be out of office and unable to pardon you. You egotistical cheating butthole.

A USA TODAY poll shows 91% of the American public polled think Clemens is full of poops.

Could it be that the American public is so tired of Bush's arrogant defiance, that Clemens, with his Texan rhetoric, just reminds us of him?

I know, 11 months to go. It's almost over.

Dallas Clark gets franchised....hope the Colts sign him long term, he's a key component to the offense especially with Harrison declining.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Indianapolis tight end Dallas Clark can at least buy a ticket to Hawaii for the next six years if the Pro Bowl voters continue to overlook his talents.

Colts president Bill Polian said Wednesday that Clark signed a new six-year contract that virtually assures Peyton Manning of finding one of his favorite targets for the rest of his career. Terms were not disclosed, but a source close to the negotiations said the deal will make Clark the NFL's highest-paid player at his position even though he's never been selected to the Pro Bowl. The source spoke on condition of anonymity because of a clause in the contract.

The move came a day after the Colts announced they designated Clark their franchise player.

Yep.

Is it just me or have there been a lot of trades in the NBA this season?

Yes, a lot of really significant trades with most of the talent going west.

I haven't followed the NBA too closely in the past decade, but I have to admit that there is a lot of excitement started. It seems after the Lakers made their big acqisition recently, there's been a domino effect with the Suns, Hornets and Mavericks landing big trades, and now Cleveland lands a few big names.

David Stern is smiling.

It seems that a photo of Roger Clemens at Jose Canseco's party has surfaced. The same party he denied being at last week.

Now his lawyer is claiming that he stopped by the party just to pick up his wife. That he was in and out in five minutes, but "might" have taken a few pics, "for the fans."

Gee, what a swell guy.

I'll tell you something, if he isn't charged with perjury, as Barry Bonds is, black people have every right to be upset. What's right is right.

Just being honest.

He's an ass. When he said that he was retiring from baseball, and then went to Houston and took Andy with him, I knew he was an ass.

I find it interesting that before the Mitchell report everyone loved Clemens because he was charming and easy to like. Everyone was also so willing to curse out Bonds in any way possible because he is so easy to hate.

All of a sudden Bonds looks like the smart one by keeping his mouth shut this whole time and shrugging off the media. Clemens looks like such a fool now. I hardly hear about Bonds anymore even though he is just as guilty.

I agree with PB, if Clemens isn't charged with perjury then black people should be pissed. Even if it isn't a race thing it's hard to see it any other way.

And now that I think of it, it's the government's fault for wasting millions of dollars to pin Bonds. Now it has to do the same for other players so that they don't look like they were going after just one person and not others. They have dug themselves into the same hole as Bonds, Clemens and the rest of this steroids mess.

Not that I feel compelled to start a new thread, but what did the NBA followers think of the recent deals that went down? As a Cavs fan, I had written off the season before it started in terms of winning it all. Why? The Cavs rode a perfect storm into the Finals last year by gaining the #2 seed on the last day of the regular season. They overachieved and beat the Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals when Detroit could not hit any shots and LeBron became a one-man wrecking crew.

The offseason was spent doing nothing to improve the Cavs and was further complicated by the holdouts of Varaejo and Pavlovic. Decimated by injuries, the Cavs came back down to earth. Now, I have reason to be optimistic again, but do not think that Thursday's trade will be the move the puts the team over the hump. Hughes sucked and Gooden was consistently inconsistent. They were replaced with Wally World, who has been injury-prone and Ben Wallace, who has disappeared since leaving Detroit. We'll see what happens with those two. The key to this trade, in my opinion, is the play of Delonte West. A stud at St. Joe's in college, he has not been great yet in the pros. But if he can shoot and handle the point, it will provide relief for LeBron. Wallace & Joe Smith will be factors on the defensive side, and Wally World will get some looks from the perimeter when teams double/triple LeBron.

I think the Shaq trade was ridiculous for Phoenix, while the Mavs could have the missing piece with Jason Kidd.

I think the biggest trade was Pao Gasol going to the Lakers. They basically stole him from Memphis. I see them going far in the playoffs if not to the finals. It kills me to say that, ugh. The west continues to get stronger. I wish the Warriors were in the East \:\/

It was a good one for the Lakers, Blibble. He could be the missing piece Kobe has needed since Shaq's departure. NBA champs need two superstars and this may the player to put LA back on top again.
