The "Cripsy Chicken Salad"? That's what I get every time I go there - I like it. It used to come in an edible bowl which was even better, but it's still pretty decent. They do, however, generally charge more than they should for a place like that, though...

We have a Bob Evans and we usually go there for breakfast. It is rare we go there for lunch or dinner.

Not having Friendlys in the UK i checked their website out. They look like nice places and their breakfasts look lovely. The pics of good looking model types with their tongues hanging out drooling over ice cream is a bit off putting though

The food is really nothing to write home about. It's ok at best. But their Ice Cream desserts are excellent.

I haven't been to a Friendly's in probably 23 years.

I've never heard of Friendly's. Must be an East Coast thing maybe? I seldom go out for breakfast, but I'm happy with I-Hops (can't beat their pancakes)

I used to love I-Hop, but they've gone downhill (at least here in the East) in the past ten years or so. I loved their special sampler breakfasts .... and they used to have good coffee (VERY important to rating a breakfast joint).

I agree SC, Ihop is terrible. Last time I went for breakfast they served the food cold and under cooked

I haven't even seen an IHop in years, at least where I live. My Uncle Sal used to LOVE IHop, for exactly the reason that SC gave - the Coffee. They would bring the entire carafe to your table. Every year, Uncle Sal would take my mom and Aunt Grace Christmas shopping. When they were done, they would always go to IHop.

My mom treated us to breakfast the other day. We went to a delightful little place right near me that served HUGE pancakes. They were about the size of a dessert plate. They were obviously freshly made, and they were fluffy and delicious.

My dad tells me the other week my nana (his mother) was cooking a chicken and, since he was present, she asked him what he preferred:

"The leg or the arm?"

You sure it was a chicken??

Microwave popcorn is f'n maddening!

I can use the same brand, time after time, for the exact amount of time, and sometimes it all pops, sometimes it smokes and sometimes it burns.

Try using the same microwave.

Call me weirdo, but even though I'm not a big popcorn eater, I like my popcorn a little to the burnt side.

Don't focus on the time it's in the microwave, but take it out once you start getting one pop every two seconds.

I too don't mind it a tad on the burnt side (But I still like my steaks rare).

Why is it I always crave peaches or necatrines when they are off-season. How can these fruits be out of season in sunny California? What? I gotta grow my own peaches?

I believe you are right DC, I think that the Shula's in Norfolk is at the Marriott.

When I was getting the address I noticed that Philly has a shula's. Maybe next time we have a BB weekend there we can go there huh?

It's only 25 miles from my house in Newport News. I hope this one lives up to the one you guys went to in Chicago.

There's a Shula's in Philly?? Really?? Actually, now that I think about it, I think Mr. Babe ate there, and he loved it. Well, as good as it might be, nothing could be La Veranda!! Outstanding!!

Becky told me the other day that she hasn't found a better place than LaVeranda.

I was only there once, but I loved Shula's. We don't have one by me so it was a real treat. However, when I'm on vacation, I like to go and try places that I don't have in my area. I don't know. I guess just to try new places.
