In the 2nd episode of the second season, members of the DiMeo family are seen breaking up a protest being led by Reverend Herman James Jr. (I think that's his name) at the behest of Massarone. Later we see Tony discussing "business" with the Reverend when we find out that the Reverend's father died. Could someone explain to me what was going on between Tony and the Reverend, I was and still quite confused by that.
Thanks.

The reverend was having his parish protest on a construction site that Tony was suppose to provide protection for. The construction manager of the site had to pay Tony even more money to have him remove the protestors from the site. The reverend was given money for having his protestors halt any construction at the site.

An example of labor racketeering...playing both sides against each other and getting money from both, it's a beautiful racket.
Long as I remember The rain been coming down. Clouds of Mystery pouring Confusion on the ground. Good men through the ages, Trying to find the sun; And I wonder, Still I wonder, Who'll stop the rain.
