Well for my film literature class in Highschool we get to present our fav movie but we have to show stuff like lighting effects, camera angles, etc. What scenes would you guys show? It has to be about 15 minutes. I was thinking of showing the end of course, and and for the lighting effects the part where he kills the Fidel Exile in the camp.

The chainsaw scene. grin

I also feel the scene where Tony and Manny go and kill the Don guy and the cop should be included.

For lighting, you could use the club scenes.

If you want a more "cinematographic-oriented" movie though, go with The Godfathers. wink

I agree! Shows how "implied" violence is often misinterpreted as plain and simple violence. De Palma is a genius.

someone already did godfather, and about the chainsaw scene here is the convo i had with my teacher

Me: Hey violence is ok for the presentation right?

Teacher: Yes to a limit, just no sex

Me: Have you ever seen scarface?

Teacher: Yes

Me: Can i show the chainsaw scene?

Teacher: *Looks at me like im on crack* uh no.

haha thats what i figured but she doesnt care about the last stand part, but i need some scenes that show lighting, or at least a scene where i can bs and be like "this scene shows lighting the character is in the dark, because he is being kept in the dark about the drug deal" or something like that, any ideas??? thanks!

Get yourself a pen and paper, sit down, and watch Scarface not for enjoyment but research. Keep in mind your objective above and observe each scene while taking short notes.

Keep us updated on your progress smile

i agree who cares what your teacher said. explain to him that you don't see hector saw chico arm and leg off. It's the mind that makes u think that and that is great directing.

We Were Soldiers also had good lighting. I think De Palma said the camera angles and lighting were poor, on the new edition. The original VHS and DVD have pretty shitty quality, as a matter of fact. Maybe you should use another movie. ohwell -Pat
