TS -- shut up and read into the posts more. I never said YOU or PAT claimed to be 'gangstas,' I was talking about TuPac. Pay attention. Shut the Fuck up I addressed me and Pat and then I addressed Pac you pay attention you fuck. Scarface has nothing to do with rap. Which is why me, Lombardi and many others loathe it. He has everything to do with rap, and living in a ghetto. Most Rappers come from the Ghetto. Scarface showed that you can go from nothing to something just like most rappers have from ghettos and projects. Tony came from the gutter so did Tupac. Tony Rised to the top so did Pac. Tony died because he wasn't careful and guess what... so did Pac. Rap has everything to do with Scarface and I believe that if Scarface had not be created Rap would not be what it is today. Which is why you, Lombardi, and many others should ignore posts about it. -Pat Exactly

TS -- hahaha! ...hahaha! You're such a fucking idiot. I made a bet that you would react this VERY way. "STFU." Hahaha. At least Pat has the maturity to reply without petty insults. What are you, a second grader? Get a life. Bet your next reply will be filled with "STFUs" and "UR GHEYs." And just because they have "similaries," they have "everything to do with each other?" My favorite food is chicken, so is the Queen of England's. Shit, we must be EXACTLY alike and have EVERYTHING to do with each other. And Pat, there's nothing wrong with criticism if it isn't immature and blatantly insulting.

I don't care what he said in his raps to improve his politically correct image but he sold drugs in the ghetto [which I am not starting a debate on) and it is a 95% chance, no 99% chance he was a junkie all through his life.

Now you've crossed the line. Tupac wasn't a junkie. If Tupac was a junkie, do you think his poetry and literature could be taught along with Shakespeare in high school classes and he could have several colleges, including Harvard, teaching their students him? Not a chance. Just because someone smokes weed doesn't mean they're a junkie. He didn't have 100 pounds on him every second of the day praying to God he didn't run out. -Pat

everytime something is posted about Tupac people start fighting, theres not enough rap fans on the boards to combat the people who hate rap and hate Tupac, why dont we just give it a rest

Pat... It's UNCALLED FOR for Angie to state Shakespeare is better? It's UNCALLED FOR for Angie to state her opinion? Nirvana is better than TuPac. My opinion. Uh oh, guess that was uncalled for. And if you had a good enough argument, "four on one" would be no problem. But since your argument is weak, it's obviously a problem.

See what I mean, Angie? This is the main reason I left the movie boards. Everyone of my damn posts are criticized. This shit is really getting old. DV, you started this whole thing with the 2nd post in this thread if I may remind you. --------- If you don't like certain topics or particular members, ignore them! --------- You don't like me, and you don't like 2Pac. Therefore, you ALL should've ignored this thread and TS and myself could've had a respectable conversation. -Pat

What I don't understand is why rappers only love this movie. I know that some of them like The Godfather, but why do the glorify Scarface so much? Vito started off with nothing, and look where he got. So why don't the rappers glorify the Godfather as much as Scarface? Or OUATIA? It's okay if the rappers like Scarface, but it is just out of control. Kids in my classes talk about Scarface, which I assume is because of the rappers. Again, it's okay to like it, but just give the whole "I'm Tony Montana" thing a break! Riley

It's okay if the rappers like Scarface, but it is just out of control. Kids in my classes talk about Scarface, which I assume is because of the rappers. Again, it's okay to like it, but just give the whole "I'm Tony Montana" thing a break!

So, it's uncalled for to have a non-insulting opinion? What I'm saying is your statement was COMPLETELY stoopit. Angie says "I think Shakespeare is better than TuPac." And you said "It's UNCALLED FOR to say he is better!" Uncalled for is usually used as a term for rude things and such, not an "opinion." Originally posted by Patrick: Lombardi--That's a non-insulting opinion. -Pat My point is... HOW WAS Angie's opinion insulting and uncalled for? And RH, I agree. All these kids loving Scarface because the rappers do is fucking stoopit. And 90% of them haven't even seen it, and if they have, they don't understand it. The only reason they like it is 'cause it's "cool" and the rappers like it. And the ONLY part they know is "say hell to my little friend."

I don't listen to Tupac, but I don't want to insult him and his music. Like some people on this board I agree that I find it annoying when my peers compare rappers to Tony Mantana. First Tony Mantana is a fictional character. I'm sure these rappers had a hard life growing up in an atmosphere of gang violence and drugs. I don't think it's right to compare your life though to a fictional character though, as I think that shows you as a person have a hard time grasping fiction from reality. I respect Pat as an individual and I don't have a problem with anyone who enjoys rap or a rapper. Just my opinon and let's not be figthing with one another as usually fighting like this takes away the quality of a good community of a message board. THAT is respecting everybodys opinion farly

I think we found a new ignorance on the boards. You quoted me, so don't try to go back and say "OMG I WAZ ONLY JOKIN" now. It's pointless and basically everyone knows you're immature. You're showing it here. I mean, really, what are you trying to accomplish going on insulting rampages? Do you think it makes you look good? No, it portrays you in a completely negative light.
And you say to Angie "I thought we were on friendly terms." Me and Angie happen to be good friends, and when you hurl pointless and senseless insults around I'm sure she's going to stand up for what she believes in. Oh, wait, I forgot; since you're so used to childish insults, you must be used to childish things such as "I THOUGHT YOU WERE ON MY SIDE!" I see.
And I never said your opinion was "wrong." Check the thread. We were ALL debating. I never got "defensive." What the fuck do you think you DO IN DEBATES? You argue your point. What, in a DEBATING THREAD, am I supposed to say "oh, okay, that's your opinion." If you're going to post in a thread where there is heavy conflict about difference in a opinion, DON'T POST IN IT. If you do, don't expect no one to call you on your beliefs.

You're exactly right, SC -- and that's what I did. Replied in an ordely, mature fashion.... Which is why Don Pope is the one who got the warning from Geoff. absolutely, but when i stated my opinion lombardi got all uptight about it all, and started insulting me, acting like a little girl.If you can show me where I insulted you, you get a prize. Oh, wait... You can't. Damn it all. lombardi im makin myself look like an idiot? good i dont give a fuck what anyone of you thinkExactly -- you're tough; you're hardcore, man. I better stay away from you. You might "kick my ass." Making idle threats over the internet. Gotta love it. seriously im concerned for you, maybe a social life would be the answer.1.) You don't know anything about that because you don't live near me; you're making assumptions over the internet. Wow, that's big of you. 2.) I'm concerned for you; I think maybe a spelling/grammar/punctuation class may be the answer for ya. Look into it.

Hahahaha, funny thing is -- you keep replying. Get a life and a girl? Hmmm... Maybe I'll take that advice that I don't need once you learn how to form a sentence without constant grammatical errors. Seriously, you don't know me, so you cannot even begin to tell me what I "need" based off stupid assumptions you make off petty insults that a fifth grader would look at down at. "IF U WER IN FRONT OF ME U WOODNT DO IT CUZ ID BEET U ^" Right? Riiiight... Tone down your ego and stop making threats over the internet. It doesn't make you look big or bad. They're idle and will never happen. You tell me I need a "life" because I debate online -- yet someone who threatens someone over the internet, they don't need a "life" right? Yep, say "c ya l8er" then come back and reply. You talk down to me 'cause I reply and won't "get over it" yet who keeps coming back for me? Hypocrisy at it's finest! Now I can predict what you'll do next. You won't rebut ANYTHING I SAY -- you'll just hurl insults like I need a "life" and a "girl" and I wouldn't do this "in front of you." Let's see how psychic I really am!

yea lock it, first thing i agree with you about. We can build on that as for Don vercetti i lost all respect for you, just for the fact that you barge into an argument that dosent concern in any way what so ever. You pop out of nowhere like you know me, then take sides against me, thats showing of much of a moron YOU are.

It's "funny" (quotes indicate sarcasm) that the same players are the ones involved in these battles of "wit". Hmm... Do as SC said.
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

I don't want to name anybody here, but I find it so laughable and pathetic that so many people criticize 2Pac without knowing shit and thinking he was the typical *bling bling* muscle wannabe "gangsta" rapper. But obviously, he was highly misunderstood. 2Pac was the real deal, a true thug, a true niggah. Having an extreme desire to achieve, Pac worked harder in his 25 years than most people could in 10 life times. He even wrote some of his songs in a Napkin while taking a shit in the bathroom, and songs that were direclty gone to his albums without further editings. Just in the year of 1997, 2Pac sold over 12 million albums. Tupac sold 2.7 million records five years after his death, and his estate made about $7 millions. He wasn't afraid to speak for what was on his mind. Music was real, and he spoke what he felt, from his heart, from thee pit of thee stomach. Pac was huge back then & still is, he's a guy that will never be forgotten. With songs that had meanful plus sentimental lyrics, Pac sang about his life or what he went through. He never was afraid of anything. Pac also was a great actor, poet and all around entertainer. With people thinking that all he was promoting was violence, the society usually tend to see things through different views. I'm kinda disappointed and revolted about those opinions against the life of a man who rose from the ashes of ghetto life to a superstar rapper, a critically acclaimed actor, a wondefully touching poet and finally; to us true fans, nothing more than a LEGEND. Personally, I think he was the truset nigga alive & there will be no one like him again ever.

Wow. Please refrain from yelling at me, little man. Scarface (Tony Montana) is a fictional character and how wasn't he a coward? He sold drugs to make his life better, rather then his society. If you think Tupac was an "annoying rapper," then I pity you for not having the intelligence to understand his literature. BTW, Tupac is dead in case you didn't know. If Tupac was a coward, he would've killed himself in the pen. Did he? No. He came out to be the most inspirational rapper of all time. He went down fighting. He was a soldier. What do you mean? He got shot and survived. Got shot again, and was a fallen soldier. Joe--Must you always bust my balls? Seriously. This has nothing to do with you. I've been ignoring this thread for the longest time, but that kid has no idea what he's talking about. It seems you don't either. When you can take the time and actually learn about him, then give me your opinion on him. Until then, I just don't care. It's worthless. -Pat

I think idolizing someone is giving me more of a life then bashing someone all of the time that you know absolutely nothing about. I already took care of you in the other thread, so I see no more need in trying to embarrass you further. You guys don't understand that Tupac was the voice of our youth. Tupac didn't rap about what is rapped today. He didn't go, "Yo, I got my 32 in rims and cars. Lets go fuck hos and smoke all day. I'm a rubberband man and I'm feeling tipsy while I'm in da club." That wasn't Tupac. You hear this shit today and think that is what he was like. Were some of his songs about drugs? Yeh. Did he call some women bitches? Yeh. What guys don't call some women bitches? He said it himself, "I love women and I wouldn't hurt them. People think that when I call a woman a bitch, I think they're all bitches. No! Alright? That's not what I think. I'd never call my mom or sister a bitch. Just some women are bitches. They take a man's money and break his heart. There are guy bitches too." Tupac was our voice. Tupac spoke when we couldn't be heard. We lost a prodigy when we lost Tupac. Like I said, I can't make you like him, but if you're not going to give it a chance, then it's your loss for being so ignorant. -Pat

CAlling him a voice for our youth? What the fuck are you talking about? You could've just left it at that. "I didn't like it." There's no need to talk shit. Voice of our youth: "You know, it's funny. When it rains, it pours. They got money for wars, but can't feed the poor. They say their ain't no hope for the youth, but the truth is it ain't no hope for the future." "And what's strange is nobody knew my name before it came. Now the whole world is calling me a killer. All I ever did was try to reach the kids with the real." "Got me worried, stressing. My vision's blurried. The question is, "Will I live?" No one in the world loves me. I'm headed for danger. Don't trust strangers. Put one in the chamber whenever I'm feeling this anger. Don't wanna make excuses cause this is how it is. What's the use? Unless we're shooting, no one notices the youth." "God, come save the youth. Ain't nothing else to do but have faith in you...Dear Lord, if ya hear me, tell me why little girl like LaTasha had to die. She never got to see the bullet, just heard the shot. Her little body couldn't take it, it shook and dropped. And when I saw it on the news, I see busta girl killing Tasha. Now I'm screaming "Fuck the world!" In the end, it's my friends that flip-flop."

CAlling him a voice for our youth? What the fuck are you talking about? This fool is getting it right. WHo cares if you think 2PAC doesn't interest you. But wait, Do you even rap yourself? Why don't you come up with some of YOUR own shit and we'll see how good you would rap, kid. I'm sure 2PAC earned and did more than what you could do in 20 life-times.

You know, it's funny how all of you talk shit on blacks and rappers in here because I guarantee none of you have ever gone up to a bunch of black guys talking about "Scarface and being in the Mafia" and tried to tell them off. You come here to voice your opinion, but here it does nothing. Go up to a gang and say something that to them. Then we'll see how unorganized they are. -Pat

Not to re-open a can of worms, but I wish to express my opinion on this subject. First of all, this entire post went form someone displaying a t-shirt with Scarface and Tupac Shakur. It seems silly that so many would get so agitated over something so simple. I am a fan of Tupac Shakur and collect some of his music, but I recognize him for who he was. Tupac was an artist, but he also was an entertainer. The rap industry is making a large amount of money using the so called “gangsta” and “thug” image. This is all merely a sale’s pitch. I enjoy some rap music, but I take it all at face value and recognize that what I am listing to is not reality, but merely entertainment. Although many of these rap-stars have had their troubles with the law, fights, murders, and many other controversial issues, that does not convince me, personally that these men are really who they say they are. 50Cent, Dr. Dre, 2pac, Snoop Dogg, and down the line. These men are in the “gangsta rap” business for one primary reason, to make money and they make money by using promoting these fantasy images. Entertainers and gangsters are two different groups of people. I hope no one was offended by this post, this is merely my opinion. Feel free to reply or comment as you may.
