Nope, I think you would be better off investing in a "region free" DVD player.

Jerry: Ah, you're crazy.
Cosmo Kramer: Am I? Or am I so sane that you just blew your mind?

Hey
Im an Aussie Scarface fan and I dont even post on this forum at all (I only see whats going on to keep updated) but this post caught my attention since I can help you out. I have the Deluxe edition but I got it through an importer, I rang them up a couple of days before the American release and asked, and they actually had the box set in before America's date (couple of days before) so I puchased it. I have been back to the shop recently and have seen that they have the Anniversery dvd by itself (no deluxe)but they can get it in) so to answer your question, get it imported because I dont like the chances of it being released here anytime soon and its worth investing in a free region dvd player. Hope this helps out and you get your hands on a copy.

Ok I gotta think now, the deluxe set was expensive, it was like over $100, I really cant remember and I dont have the docket but it was over 100 but not over 150, sorry I got it like just before it came out in U.S last year so it was awhile back but hope it helps. It might be cheaper to get it through amazon though coz the aussie/american dollar works really good at the moment in our favour.

GOOD NEWS FOR YOU DUDE!
I just got an email from www.dvdorchard.com.au (they are a dvd shop online) with a news letter and guess what? Scarface 2 Disc Special Edition Regeon 4 dvd is due for release in Aus on 10/3/2004! So go to the sit and search for "Scarface" and it will come up. Theres a pic of it too, it looks different to the U.S version, as I cant see that they are putting a cardboard cover on it. The dvd looks more like the old release just with "2 Disc Special Edition" printed on top. So we are getting a Special Edition version, not the Anniversery Edition, but it will be the same content on the discs Im betting. I might buy it to compare it to the U.S Anniversery Edition, but Im thinking its the same thing with a different cover. Il try post the pic off the site, hope this is good news as you might not want to import the U.S edition, but I dont think we are going to see the Deluxe Box out here, but import it like me if you want it!

AUSTRALIA 2 DISC SPECIAL EDITION NOW AVAILABLE!
Hey dude, just got my copy of the aussie special edtion and well, im glad to say that I also own U.S Deleuxe. Here are some of my observations comparing it to the Anniversery Edition. The Oz edition has the same interactive menu on both discs as the u.s edition. But the u.s edition has Dolby and DTS, the aussie version only has DTS. Heres what really annoyed me about our print while skipping through the movie, the opening monolouge "In 1983..." dosnt scroll up the screen like in the normal u.s print but comes up on a blank screen in subtitle form while Tony's theme plays in the background on our version. Also when going to a scene where it says on the screen "Bolivia" or "New York City" the writing that comes up on our print is at the bottom of the screen in white unlike the u.s print where it comes up in big bold red letters in the middle of the screen. BUT we do get what alot of the americans complained about not having on their bonus discs. We get the Trailer and Teaser trailer. These did not feature on the Anniversery edition but on the standard edition before it which I also own. So summed up, I bought it because I dont like getting my Anniversery edition out and messing it up,so now I have three prints of the film, standard release,Deluxe Set, and 2 disc special edition. If ur a big fan, buy both. Hope this helps Rukus.
