A great show. I, too, loved the first two seasons the best. Had it continued, I don't know if I could have watched without Leo's character. I think Jimmy Smits is a great actor, but the show lost something with him in it.

My favorite episode was in Season 2 after Bartlett was shot and they had flashbacks to how they all came together. Runner-up was when Mark Harmon's character was killed after protecting CJ. Right up there was when Bartlett disclosed he had MS to Toby and how Toby figured it out beforehand.

Those are my top picks too Goombah. My daughter was watching season 3 with me and her jaw dropped open when Mark Harmon's character was killed. I think I've converted her. \:\)

My favorite scene with Ainsley was when Sam made the comment how she could make a good dog break its leash. He was so out of touch with how to talk to a woman that it was funny and he spent a significant time back peddling to her.

The character I could not stand was the little blond twerp who came on near the end of the series. Can't remember her name, but she was the one who announced that Leo died. I think it was her voice that really did it for me.

Oh yes, she plays on "Pushing daisies" now. I don't know her name at the moment. I think it was AnnaBell. Her voice was like nails on a chalk board.

I think I was so sick of the last 2 seasons by then that all the new characters I could have done without. Jeanine Gerafallo (sp) tops that list.

Oh, that's Kristen something. She's actually a stage performer, most famous for doing Wicked on Broadway. I actually liked her!!

Beth, here's one of my favorite Toby moments. I found this when I was scrolling through the West Wing clips on You Tube.

Babies come with hats....yes, a great Toby moment. "It was mom who named you Huckleberry".

The other moment with his kids I like is when Andy dressed them as Orioles players for Halloween. When they went to sleep he slipped Yankees hats in their beds.

The best of Leo and Margaret. My all time favorite scene is where Margaret tells Leo she can forge the president's signature.

"I think that he would call that a coup d'etat!"

I also liked when Margaret was listening behind the door during Ainsley's interview.

Oh yes, that brought tears to my eyes. I forget the scene but later Josh reiterates that sentence to Leo.

Man, this was a great show. Thank goodness for youtube. \:\)

Sam and Ainsley I think definitely could have been the #2 couple if they ever hooked up. Here are just a couple of their interactions.

I loved Sam and Ainsley, especially when she told him why she felt the ERA was an insult.

I think the funniest Josh moments were 1) when he wished Donna a happy anniversary for her starting with him and it was just to mock Donna for taking the job after her boyfriend dumped her and 2) when Josh was caught up blogging on his own website with the hate mail he received.

My favorite serious moment with Josh was when Bartlett came to the airport after Josh's dad passed away. Honorable mention when he sat in with the therapist after smashing his glass and cutting his hand, which was a result of being shot during the assassination attempt.

I've never watched the West Wing, but for those interested, Best Buy is currently selling Seasons 1 through 7 for $14.99 each. Same price for Smallville DVDs also. I believe the sale lasts through 11/17.

That sounds like a great price as far as season DVD's go.

All those scenerios you mentioned Goobah were great. The scene where Josh teases Donna about her boyfriend was tapped off with her telling him, "If you were in an accident I wouldn't stop for red lights".

Hmmmmmmmmmm, I see a trip to Best Buys in my future. \:\)

My daughter's at the mall right now. I think that they have a Best Buy. I already have Seasons 1 and 2, but I would love 3 and 7. 4 and 5 were awful.

What were the general storylines in 4 & 5 that you did not like, SB? I did not like the seeing the Jimmy Smits character's campaign from the ground up. Too real and very boring television IMO.

Loved the episode where Leo had the heart attack - that was fairly late in the series.

I didn't like most of the re-election campaign, which was lots of Season 4 and then Season 5 was just the WORST, with that whole stupid storyline with the government shutting down and Zoey and the idiot Frenchman, who got her kidnapped. Although though there were still exceptional moments, by and large they were not my favorites.

Uggh! I guess that means I won't be getting it for Christmas either. I'll just skip to season 7 and get the others when they're cheaper. I don't want to pay full price for them.
