"Da two yutes!"

Actually I happen to like grits with a little bit of sugar added to them.

But I was really interested to know if Mama Mig makes Grits.

While on my honeymoom traveling toward Fla, we stopped for breakfast in Kentucky. I ordered ham/eggs and the waitress, with an strong Southern drawl, "y'all want grits with that?" I said, "what are grits?" She said, "Y'all don't know what grits are?"

I didn't end up ordering them, but....I saw them from other orders, and they look like cream of wheat.

I tried them only once.... on a trip down to North Carolina.... I can't say I liked them much but the rest of that breakfast was awesome!

Where'd we eat (in some country type setting) that the food was really good??? Was is the 2 yolk egg place?

The first morning when I met you guys in Chicago.

A two yolk egg means four yokes. A 1 yoke egg is really 2 yokes. What the f**k was that all about? I was so confused that I wound up ordering a cheeseburger for breakfast! Remember?

I still can't figure that 1 yoke, 2 yoke shit out!

Ah yes, that was such fun. Am I the only one who thought it was quite cool getting that extra yoke??? When it comes to food "more" is better.

Yes TIS, I remember when the waitress was trying to explain the yoke / omelet thing to us, as soon as she said that basically you were really going to get double of what you ordered, you were very happy! And then you doubled your egg order once more!

And talk about weird food combinations. I believe that I had a cheeseburger and a side order of Grits!

A friend turned me on to chicken lately... since I can now bake it myself I've tried making wings.... you're right - they don't have much to them.... I bought a package of 10 and it went in a few bites. \:\(

They're good to eat as appetizers, though.

What gave you that impression?

Hot wings are great! They're just incredibly fatty and caloric cuz they're deep-fried, and the "hot sauce" is basically just melted butter with hot sauce added to it... mmmm... awesome \:D

Fried chicken wings are great, too - and I actually prefer them when they're a bit less meaty and almost overdone.

Anyway, did this topic turn into Random Food Whoring? (I was actually thinking of starting that \:D )

Well, I figured some people like wings. My whole family thinks I'm odd because I prefer the wings and can eat them for a meal. I also don't mind the neck. \:p

Since we're random food whoring, does anyone bread their chicken? Even wings. Lightly dip chickin in oil and add a tad of lemon juice, garlic salt (or bake with garlic cloves) and dip in Italian seasoned bread crumbs. Very tasty. \:\)

SC, try buying Oven Stuffer wings next time. They're a lot meatier.

I love grits. I eat them whenever I can. I bought some once to make at home, but nobody else would eat them, so I never bothered very often.

I like them with butter and salt and a splash of milk.

Flatmates think I am particularly perculiar because my favourite meal is basically the pasta (fusilli, the twirls) with cheese and tuna that I make for myself.

It's not weird at all to me. Ironic, though: one of my flatmates this year is a vegetarian and the other hates cheese. Go figure. \:D

Hi TIS,

Leather Britches are green beans that I string up and let them dry out. Ane when they are all dried out I cook them for about 2-3 hours and they are delish.
