And what exactly is Fazoli's?

Here SV.

We went there pretty often when we lived in VA. But, we don't have any around here.

Hi Angela Marie. I knew that name sounded familiar. There is not one in my city, but there is one not too far from me. Is the food good? I'll try to check it out one day. \:\)

TIS

Do any of you guys have The Macaroni Grill or a Claim Jumper in your city?

There is a Macaroni Grill not to far from me over in New Jersey, but I've never eaten there.

I think that in the New York City vicinity there are more authentic Italian restaurants than in most other parts of the country. So a lot of these Italian chain restaurants do not even bother opening up within the city limits and the outer boroughs.

Never. There isn't one in my area. We had a Buca di Beppo for awhile, which I loved (and preferred to the Olive Garden), but never a Fazolis.

My Daugher has eaten at Buca di Beppo. There isn't one in my area, but either L.A. or Orange County may have one. She loved it. \:\)

Actually TIS, I would say that Las Vegas is right up there these days with New York restaurant wise.

I hate Fazoli's

It's a crappy "Italian" chain that none of you are missing out on if you don't have one. It's not even like an Olive Garden, It's sort of an Italian McDonalds, but it doesn't taste good.

I'd rather go to a local restaurant, or at least Buca Di Beppo.

Maybe that's where Henry Hill ate when he entered the witness protection program.

Plus you get people coming in and asking, "How's the food in this Eye-talian restaurant?" I always tell them to try the veal.

Only Italian restaurants I have eaten at are Olive Gardens and a local one called Brother's. I have no idea if they are anywhere close to authentic.

Anybody in the south heard of or eat at CiCi's Pizza? It's Mexican made pizza (don't kid yourselves that it's Italian food). But the price is hard to beat and to get an all you can eat buffet and drink for under $7, I'm there

We have Cici's here. No, it doesn't just serve mexican pizza nor does it appear to be mexican made (whatever that means). It serves all kinds of pizza. It's typical fast food pizza.

CiCi's is good, especially for the price. Lot of weird varieties. I've been to one in AL, and I am sure there's one not too far away but I haven't been here.

I regularly go to Cici's. $5 = eat whatever, including dessert \:\)

BTW, I was disappointed to know that it is pronounced "SeeSee" rather than "CheeChee", the way the GF character's name is pronounced \:\)

God, they can't even pronounce the Italian correctly??? Ci in Italian is DEFINITELY pronounced "chee".

In my opinion, the best Italian Restaurant that I've ever eaten at in New York City is IL GIGLIO'S on Warren Street.

Good point. I always correct people when they pronounce it the other way. But in its commeercials, they pronounce it "see".
